Fire Pro Wrestling World brings back everything that was great about Fire Pro R and expands upon it to give fans the definitive Fire Pro experience. Don't let the graphics scare you away, this is one of the most fun and most in depth professional wrestling games around today that any fans of professional wrestling, no matter what promotion you enjoy watching, can enjoy.

In an era when so many other wrestling games continue to focus on style over substance, a legendary Japanese franchise returns to remind its rivals of how things should be done. While Fire Pro Wrestling World isn’t without room for fixes or improvements, it’s still by far the best video game wrestling experience to arrive in recent memory. It’s been 12 years since the last proper Fire Pro game, but it was absolutely worth the wait.

Fire Pro Wrestling World is just the best wrestling game I’ve played in years. It’s also a perfect fit for the PS4, with its arcade-style input commands right at home on the DualShock 4. If you want to play a wrestling game on the PS4, there’s only one option, and Fire Pro Wrestling World might be set to have art imitate life and experience the same kind of global renaissance that NJPW is experiencing.

Fire Pro Wrestling World is the best entry in the longest-running wrestling game franchise. It combines the modern era of New Japan Pro Wrestling with a gameplay style that does not only that company, but many others justice with its diversity. The learning curve may be tough on newcomers in theory, but the training and Fighting Road modes ensure that you never feel too out of your depth even if you haven’t played a Fire Pro game before. Fire Pro Wrestling World is a must-buy for any fan of New Japan or pro wrestling as a whole.

If youI think most buyers of the game that hate it don't take the time to dig into the deep mechanics. Yes, on the surface it seems simple. If you gloss over the controls but don't bother going into the create a character and looking at the ratings, move-sets and logic, you're missing out. Customization is fantastic, the modding community is bustling with activity, and it constantly surprises me with little details that make this game fun (IE, settings for random guys in your stable-or opponents stable- running into the ring, having a manager ring side, etc.). This is the first fire pro game I've played and I love the flexibility and gameplay. It could be that because I'm older, I dig the graphics and overall style of the game. But it still plays ten times deeper than what I've seen across other wrestling titles. It's not a button masher, it requires timing and true strategy to win in this game. This was definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that I paid. I've spent that on much worse in my lifetime. Expand

But, FPWW is a complete wrestling game. The gameplay logic is where it's at along with the customization! The fact this game doesn't get enough attention is a shame. Especially with how bad WWE 2K has been this past year, the controls do take some time to get used to and the graphics aren't amazing by any means. But if you love customizing your own ring, roster, promotion, etc along with good gameplay I highly suggest checking this out! Expand

Well worth the wait. I have been a fan of the Fire Pro series since 6 Man Scramble on Sega Saturn. Love the NJPW licensing.

I always wanted to play a Fire Pro game during the last decades, as I had heard they were really something special. As a wrestling fan, I was up for trying any wrestling game. But they always seemed only available via import. So in 2018, we finally got a straight UK release for Fire Pro on the PS4. I must say, I'm a little disappointed. You can make pretty authentic caws but the system is not as user friendly as it could of been. I found the gameplay itself disjointed. I certainly couldn't play it for long sessions. Fire Pro has it's moments, but I wasn't blown away. When it comes to retro wrestling games, you can't beat the N64 classics. Expand
