While it may not look like much on the surface, Helldivers has a hell of a lot going on once players dig in, and being a disposable interstellar trooper raiding death planets has never been more perfectly captured than it is here.

While the maps and enemies could be more varied and interesting, there’s no denying that the gameplay is stellar, rewarding you for working closely with your teammates and punishing you otherwise.

Helldivers is an excellent mix of tactics and action. The freedom it offers through weapons and Stratagem-skills makes it possible for everybody to create their own way of playing this game. The difficulty level is nice and high, which makes the co-op experience even more intense. This game might look a bit generic, the gameplay is so much fun that you won't even notice.

Gameplay is quick, satisfying, and often chaotic, and the stratagem system gives the action a unique identity. The only question mark here is the one that hangs over the title's community, which must be sustained if the shooter is to realise its impressive potential.

It's a bit chaotic and the visuals won't win any awards in the near future, but if you don't mind these things, Helldivers turns out to be a pretty enjoyable top-down shooter with some strategy elements thrown in for good measure.

With some great cooperative mechanics, Helldivers is better when playing with friends, but repetitive missions and maps lacks experience.

Although the gameplay and mission structure quickly becomes repetitive, Helldivers offers hours of entertaining co-op twin-stick action in a universe that's begging to be further developed.

Total blast. Baldur's Gate meets Starship Troopers. Absolutely addicting and the best $20 I've spent on a game in recent memory. So much funTotal blast. Baldur's Gate meets Starship Troopers. Absolutely addicting and the best $20 I've spent on a game in recent memory. So much fun and seemingly unlimited playability. I've found myself playing this exclusively now for a couple weeks. Who knew spreading democracy throughout the universe could be so fun. The online co-op is where its at. Link up as a foursome and have at some bug killing. Lots of fun weapons and level ups. I hope there's a sequel. Game rocks. Expand

We connect to each otherThe games network protocol are all p2p with small updates done to the community stats done by arrowhead servers. We connect to each other using our psn accounts, so you need to be logged in to play with other people. Its not bad but when problems start to occur such as weekends when you can't get a game and you've been looking forward to it all week, well that just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We pay monthly money for our playstation plus service and they can't provide a server for a game they sold for free? Seriously? Like wtf Sony! This is cheap as, fact! Happily pulling in the dosh whilst providing minimial tech capital investment to look after you're customers and developers.

I have heard Sony can be hard to talk to and developers like arrowhead can have some difficulties getting things done. I have this game a 0 mainly because Sony didn't make it, don't support it, should never have been entitle to own its trademark. That's just wrong.
