Hunting Simulator is a humble game for one kind of gamer, and one only: the hunting enthusiast. For everyone else, this accurate simulation could be an awful experience.

Hunting Simulator offers a wide variety of biomes, weapons and gadget, but it's flawed by technical and gameplay errors that fail to entertain both the hunting enthusiast and the casual player.

So, how well does Hunting Simulator simulate hunting? I can’t speak to its verisimilitude, but as a game, this is a solid animal-stalking experience which has its best parts undercut by a frustrating menu system and unrealistic tracking mechanic. The shooting, simple though it may be, is satisfying, and there’s definitely a worthwhile amount of challenge to be found in carefully sneaking up on prey. This is a good hunting game, but these technical issues keep it from being a great one.

This is a very superfluous title that features a long and boring campaign and lacks freedom for objective choosing. Just for the fans of the genre that don’t care about technical issues.

Virtual hunting enthusiasts will get some mileage out of Hunting Simulator, thanks to the amount of depth that's to be found here. Unfortunately, a huge amount of bugs, bad sound design and a high price tag will keep the enjoyment to a minimum.

Whilst I don't doubt this game's authenticity, I found Hunting Simulator to be a frustrating experience. A substantial campaign does make each prey feel unique with their own behaviours and the environments are well rendered. Sadly, getting to the shot requires so much time investment for a reward that doesn't feel too fulfilling. It's one for the enthusiasts. Novice hunters may have better luck elsewhere.

Although this game has some graphic issue and an occasional animal acting unusually, this is the best hunting simulator I have ever played. The graphics look good but there is a lot of pop up issues like bushes and rocks just popping into view as you approach. I have spent hours on this game and have only put a small dent in it. If you love hunting or hunting games you have to play this. 9/10 Expand

Developed using the Unreal 4 Engine, the game presents some of the most well-known hunting regions such as the mountains of Colorado, the oak forests of France, and the snowy plains of Alaska. Each hunting area is populated by numerous different and realistic looking animals, each possessing an authentic set of behaviours. Expand

All of the deer have the exact same antlers, scoring is based off of animal weight and no where in the U.S. is it legal to hunt at night yet half the missions are at night and NVG's are an unlockable item. That is illegal in real life, so how can you call that a simulation unless you add game wardens that confiscate all of your belongings and throw you in jail. The animals in no way portray realistic behavior, if you get on a good over watch you can watch them spawn in, take a shot, watch them run off until they disappear, then watch them respawn. This is not a simulation game, and whoever designed it has never actually hunted before. Someone needs to invest the time and money in developing good animal AI. These animals spook whenever you get within 90yards. Wind direction does factor in a bit, but all in all this game is not what it claims to be. Now, it is not terrible to play, and can be mildly entertaining. But, it is absolutely not a hunting simulator and anyone that reviews it and says it is a good simulator is a shill that either works for the company that made the game, was paid to write a review, or has never in their life touched a weapon on a hunting expedition. If you want a hunting game, there isn't one and certainly not this one. The closest thing to a hunting game was the first Deer Hunter. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a better hunting simulator than this. Anyways, if you want a hunting simulator you are going to have to build one because there still is not one available. Expand
