Young gamers will probably be alienated by the extreme retro look and the high difficulty of these games, but they are precious pieces of gaming history that should be added in every retro-loving gamers collection.

Despite a few bugs and sound glitches, Mega Man Legacy Collection is an outstanding compilation of some of the best platform games in history.

A great starter kit history lesson for a beloved platforming franchise. Be warned that it is a very tough and often frustrating lesson, but that it does have its rewards.

All in all, the Mega Man Legacy Collection has just enough toss-ins and challenges to make it worthwhile, while not messing with the highly-successful formula that formed the foundation of this long-standing franchise.

Mega Man Legacy Collection feels incomplete. It doesn’t feature any of the games that launched after the heyday of the NES era and even then brings them to modern systems with performance warts and all. Yet somehow with the six games it does bring to the table, it provides enough for fans to indulge in with challenges and archive artwork, while also bringing in new players with conveniences such as the save system.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is not the best compilation of classics released, but it’s definitely not the worst. Worth a download if you are a fan.

It is the original games from the original code, with the original bugs. Which means it also has the original exploits and codes. If your a true Megaman fan and want the game from back in the day on your new console, this is perfect for you.

Don't be fooled by the negative ratings. 5 of the 6 negative reviews come from the same 2 people. Apparently they bought it for the PS4, then went and bought it on the PS4. Then one of them bought it for the PC and surprisingly hated it there also. That's assuming they bought it at all.

Also the negative reviews fall into 3 areas, based on unrealistic expectations. Some wanted the 10 bit games. Which they knew weren't coming in this collection. But might come as a DLC if this does well. The other admitted there were small timing issues only a hardcore Megaman Savant would notice. And then there is the Mixed reviews that wanted the game to be updated for today's gamers. Which would be a waste of Capcom's time and resources. Since the original maker of Megaman made "Mighty #9" which is launching next month and is basically a modernized Megaman.

These games are well emulated and just as you remember them. A save anytime feature has been added.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 is an amazing throwback to six of the very best of Mega Man’s classic games. Everything you remember fromThe Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 is an amazing throwback to six of the very best of Mega Man’s classic games. Everything you remember from this franchise is still great, the music, the graphical style, the challenging yet rewarding gameplay. However, save states are a godsend for this re-released collection; progressing in areas you’re feeling stuck in became easier and made it a better user experience. The game is fun and highly replayable; there are many different ways to play. The downside is these games are all generally the same. With small additional adaptations such as the Slide, Rush upgrades, Charge Buster, or the Jet Pack. They’re generally the same game with the same concepts, not to mention these games originally came out yearly; like the Assassin’s Creed of the late 80’s. With a focus on, as Egoraptor would put it, “Jump and Shoot” Mechanics each of these games only take three hours to play through. So in total, it’s eighteen hours for a twenty dollar game. It can be a lackluster experience of rinse and repeat if played for too long in one sitting, but for the price, I think it’s a great gaming experience for a great piece of the media's wonderful history. Play this game in short bursts. Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 gets an 8/10 Expand

Neither my friends or I have the original consoles for the Megaman games so I have had zero experience with it since I was about 8. First, I'd like to say that these games are very hard if you do not know the order in which to complete the stages. In some cases, the stages are seemingly impossible unless you have a certain power-up or are a seasoned Megaman pro. Defeating certain bosses can also be made a breeze with the right power-ups as well. That being said, these games are challenging but overall fair. Seemingly cheap deaths are apparent but I quickly realized that these deaths were usually a result of my mistakes involving timing, positioning, being an idiot, etc. With enough practice, you can go from barely completing a single level to seeing how fast you can run through the entire game. My only big concerns are that the game lags in certain instances and you can only have a single save file for each game. This is a problem when you live with several people who all like to play and save their personal progress. Overall, I highly recommend this collection for someone who wants to get a blast from the past and experience a series that has been entertaining people for 20+ years. Expand

You have several option on how you want it displayed. Old stlye TV or monitor. 4.3 or widescreen.
You are also able to save you game at any point so if you have a difficlut time in a particular part of the map you can kinda abuse it.

People complaining about it beeing played just like a 8bit game or a ROM but that because that what the creators of the Collection wanted. All glitches and lags are still in the game and its awesome, its just like you are back in the late 80 or early 90 again =).

If you like retro gaming this is for you, if you are a whiny resolution FPS biatch dont bother buying the game.

Yes, you get Mega Man 1-6, which honestly, does simply leave out one bad game and one mediocre game. However, there is simply nothing else to it. No artbook, no soundtrack, no behind the scenes garbage some people love. Nothing extra at all. Compare this, to the MGS: Legacy collection which came with MGS 1-4, Peacwalker, MG 1-2, an artbook, a digital comic, and all the extras that originally came with Substance of 2 and 3. Simply a waste. of time, but hey... it is still Mega Man. And yes, there are a 'few' extras, but nothing physical. Expand

They could very easily add a mode for newcomers, with less damage and more lives, but they keep up with this insane and punishing formula. Expand
