Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is the ultimate follow-up to the first collection, and brings us to a full 10 Mega Man games now available on the PS4. This collection boasts some truly high quality Mega Man experiences, as well as a large number of challenges for experienced players. The Mega Man games speak for themselves largely on quality, but they have been packaged here in a very attractive and improved fashion.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 may not be the best bang for the buck in the history of the franchise, but it does still offer up the definitive way to play Mega Man 7, 9, and 10 – with the PS1 version of 8 being replicated better here than in prior compilations. Extras like an art gallery and the OSTs being available for all of the games are nice perks, and offer up more out of game value than prior collections to be fair. The controls are spot-on as are the graphics, with audio emulation being perfect. It’s a great buy for anyone who loved the series before – or might have missed out on the latter-day classic entries.

Mega Man fans will either love or hate returning to the later entries from the franchise found in Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, but the new Challenges will give any player a run for their money and should be worth checking out.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 has more variety than its predecessor due to the titles spanning both different systems and different decades. Just like the Disney Afternoon Collection, there’s a plethora of bonus content included here, spanning art galleries and music libraries. This is another essential compilation for fans of the Blue Bomber.

With just four included games, it arguably may not be quite the value that the original MMLC was, and it’s a bit disappointing we won’t be seeing these games on the portable consoles (3DS and Switch) considering how well they’d translate to those platforms... but regardless, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is the most sensible way to enjoy these four games that exists today.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a balanced and well-done porting of the Blue Bomber's Saga. It includes chapter from 7 to 10 and show Capcom love to his own legendary creature. A must have for Mega Man's fans of the entire world.

I'm helpless not to recommend Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, even though I ask that you picture me throwing my hands up in the air as I do so. The games are great, they're emulated well, and they're not all easy to find and play otherwise. Have I been spoiled by Digital Eclipse's collections, or did Capcom phone in Legacy Collection 2? The answer is "yes."

Now that Capcom has ported all of the main entry games to console, I hope that they bring us the Mega Man X games next in a collection. Or maybe even Mega Man Legends 3 — a guy can dream, right? If you haven’t played the original six games, I’d say the original Mega Man Legacy Collection is a better buy in terms of quality when compared to this one, but nonetheless, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is still great, and the best way to replay these classics.

Whilst not as authentically original as the first legacy collection, Capcom’s latest set of re-releases more than makes up for it with this diverse quartet of great games.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is worth it for 9 alone, but you'll also get to experience several legacy games that were passed by.

Mega Man & Bass's omission sucks, and I wish the whole thing had more extras, but these are still four great 2D platformers.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 houses four games from The Blue Bomber's past that offer a surprising amount of variety. Although not everyone will like everything they see, there's no denying just how enjoyable it is to replay these classics yet again.

A pretty good remastered compilation of Mega Man 7, 8, 9 and 10. Great visuals and audio, and some extras like the challenge mode that makes Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 a nice addition to the collection of all Mega Man fans.

Somehow, Capcom has managed to find a way to weaponize concentrated nostalgia, and set us all in their cross-hairs. While not as impressive as the first iteration in terms of quality and amount of content, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, is still worth a purchase for damn near any gamer.

Don't let these complaints dissuade you, though. If you're a high-level player, then the remix stages and time trials will be an excellent addition to an already robust play experience. If you're not quite as skilled (like me!), then the checkpoint system might just be what gets you to finish these games for the first time. Even though none of these are NES titles, these are still 'Nintendo-hard' games, in their own right. Just so long as you can avoid accidentally using the analog stick, you should have a pretty good time with Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.

Testo: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 completes the main series adding the last four chapters til the tenth. Although four games feels like not enough for a collection of games already available on other platforms, there are some nice add-ons and the fan-service is quite good. The budget price also helps to keep this pack pretty compelling.

The different styles of the games don't charm and the collection as is, is a bit small with four games instead of six. And there is not much extra content to explore. Still, you get to play the coolest and the toughest Mega Man adventure in the series.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 contains four good titles, bundled with a bare minimum of extras (like an image gallery...). A little bit of effort, in that regard, would have been appreciated. Recommended only if you already played the original games, and if you really, really want to play them again.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is an intriguing compilation with some very polarizing games which may appeal or not fans and newcomers alike. Although well done, it feels a bit lackluster and the addition of a couple more games - such as Mega Man & Bass - would have been much more appreciated.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 lacks in content, with only four games... and not the best ones. But it's still enjoyable and it's still Mega Man.
  22. 70
The Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a great re-release of the seventh through tenth entries, but it could have been much more, and it feels a little cynical that it's not. While there are the four games, the boss rushes and other challenges to be completed, this entry just leaves the impression that there should have been ‘more’ of everything.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 has 4 good games for hardcore fans. These are not the best entries in the series, but they are still interesting options and fun to play. It's a pity they didn't do a collection with all of the 10 games, that would have been awesome.

A good collection, with a nice selection of games and a fair amount of extras to rediscover the adventures of the iconic character.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a well-balanced, smart compilation of games that is aimed solely at those that are hoping for a warm trip down memory lane.
  27. 70
The second Mega Man collection is a touch light on content, and by this point the formula has grown tired. That doesn’t mean there isn’t joy to be had though, as what is on offer remains as solid, colorful, and stimulating as ever.

I did like going back through the four games on offer with Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 overall. The features included are exactly the same as the first Legacy Collection and the way saving works now makes for a fairer challenge that doesn’t make things too easy. It’s just a shame the enhanced version of Mega Man 8 wasn’t used and Mega Man & Bass was not included, as it gives the impression Capcom’s heart wasn’t quite in it. It’s a decent collection, but plays things far too safe.

I love Mega Man games. They're some of the best platforms ever made. However, as much as I enjoy the four titles bundled within its bits and bytes, Mega Man Collection 2 would be difficult to recommend if it cost a penny more than its $20 asking price. It's hard enough to recommend as it is.

For the pure cool factor of having the last four numbered games from the original Mega Man's career in one set on a current machine, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is absolutely a must buy. This collection could have been so much more, though.
  31. 70
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 may not be as sizable when compared to its predecessor, but it still boasts four solid entries from Capcom's dormant franchise.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 just can't reach the same heights of quality marked by the first. You get fewer games, no save states and no amiibo (but I'm certainly not dinging the score for that last one). It doesn't help that these four games are, with the exception of Mega Man 9, generally weaker than the first six Mega Man games. This Legacy Collection is great for those wanting to have the entire series in one place, but if classic Mega Man is what you are after, you're better served by buying the orginal Legacy Collection.

A good compilation of four great games. It's a shame that the games included are the original ones, and not enhanced versions.
  34. Aug 8, 2017
    65
The games included in Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 might not be the best in the series, but they're still fun as hell. Little to no extras and the fact that this is not a proper collection will draw back most of the players, but true Mega Man fans cannot refuse the chance of acquiring Mega Man 9 and Megan Man 10 in their first physical release.

What is present in this collection ends up feeling like a disjointed ride through the latter half of Mega Man's history, an area with plenty of lessons to learn, but not always ones you're meant to enjoy. Seen as half of a whole, with the first Mega Man Legacy Collection, however, and you do have something resembling a fascinating compendium of games, albeit with a lot more to skip out on in its second half.

Especially next to the first Mega Man Legacy Collection’s six games and nicer save system, The Mega Man Legacy Collection 2’s package of four included games is ultimately a step backward. While the games are mostly good, none of them top Mega Man 2 or 3 -- and for the record, I think 3 is the best. 8, 9, and 10 are worth revisiting for a dose of retro platforming challenge, but know what you’re up against going in.

Capcom's second collection of Mega Man games mostly showcases a series in its death throes.
  38. Aug 8, 2017

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 offers four reasonably decent games for the price of one, but none of them really have any nostalgic value and so their obvious flaws become all the more apparent as a result.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 reminds us why the Blue Bomber fell in the nineties. With only four titles included, the compilation runs short, especially when compared to the first one. Only hardcore fans will enjoy its many bonuses and challenges.
