Great Persona 5 dance game, this game style is similar to hatsune miku games but with different button gameplay, this game has lasted me for 3 weeks after i bought it in 2021 since i platinum the game, this one has better graphics than the original Persona 5, better remix soundtracks, I'm satisfied with this game.
Look, I know most people find this game disappointing, but I had a blast while playing it. The remixes are amazing, the aesthetic is godless and the outfits made for this game are the most stylish thing I ever saw. The choreographies are great, too. The only thing that bothered me, was the fact that only the p5 vanilla ost was present, which is kinda disappointing. I still think that p3d is the best dancing game, but this one is really great too. Oh, there is a absurd amount of dlc, which is really bad, but overall, this game is a 10/10.
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight is a rock solid and super stylish rhythm game. Its jazzy remixes are top notch and its presentation is excellent, resulting in a good-time-title that keeps you coming back for more. Approachable controls and concepts make it easy to learn, but a steep difficulty curve -- perhaps too steep, in some cases -- makes it very hard to master. Put in the practice, though, and you'll be rewarded with an immensely satisfying experience.
Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight are fantastic ways to explore their respective soundtracks from a new perspective. However, they lack the glue that a story mode brought to the previous game in the series that could have made it feel like a cohesive whole rather than a broad but disparate list of songs and customisations.
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight is a rhythm game that is very good but one that should've been released later on so it could've had a more varied soundtrack with better remixes.
If you're looking for a Persona spin-off, Persona Q is a much better use of your time and money. Meanwhile, if you're looking for a rhythm game first and foremost, there are much better options for you to pursue. Persona 3 and 5 Dancing aren't bad, but in today's rhythm games climate - they needed to offer a lot more to stand out from the crowd.
i loved persona and i like trying music-based games, so i gave this game a try. i spent a lot of hours playing this game.
what i like: the songs are nice and i like how they progressively unlock as you play, i like the remixes too. The music videos or choreography videos are nice too. i like the fact that you can change the costumes of the characters, and, as with all persona games, the menu and the game's ui is gorgeous to look at. even the title screen and the music are awesome. points accumulate progressively as your streaks grow, which makes losing streaks a big deal. this, in turn, adds tension and makes the game more fun (or frustrating lol)!
criticism: in all honesty the game isnt very deep or difficult to develop. on one hand i do like the simplicity but i feel like something is missing from the game. also random rainbow rings pop up and i think they are distracting while you play. my biggest criticism of the game is it does not tell you what are the requirements to get a "stage-clear" or "brilliant" or "perfect". they show your stats at the end but dont show what you needed to do in order to get the graderesult above. i also think the story mode was boring and unecessary... i like that they tried but i dont know, it felt like they did it because they had to rather than they wanted to make a story.
overall a nice game for persona 5 fans, maybe a bit easy and shallow as a game but personally i was hooked and played this game for hours, it feels like it is easy to pick up and close, when you need to relax for an hour or so. if the actual gameplay screen was cleaner and they were clearer with the result system, this game wouldve gotten a 78/100. i give this game a 73/100.
This is probably my least favourite persona spinoff. My reviews for persona 5: dance and persona 3: dance are the same because they are the exact same game just with different soundtracks and swapped out characters.
While the soundtrack is great, that is only because the main series has some of the best video game music of all time. However, most of it is locked behind paywalls.
The gameplay is less than stellar and doesn’t do anything that you can’t find already in another rhythm game. The main selling point of this game is the characters, having many costumes and dances for them. Many of these, however, are also locked behind paywalls.
Buy, rent, watch an LP, or skip? SKIP. This is literally just listening to music you have heard before, watching character dance around, and playing a run of the mill rhythm game. Even without the paywalls this game would be barely passable, but with them this is a firmly bad game.
How I rate games:
Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average.
Game-play: 1
It is every other rhythm game you have ever played.
Music/Sound: 1
The music is the music from P5 with some additions, however many songs are locked behind a paywall.
Graphics & Visuals: 1
The graphics are flashy with HD models of the characters. It is much less impressive than the P3 and P4 rhythm games as P5 was already mostly HD and so the improvements is less impressive.
Story/World-building: 0
There isn't any and really no reason for there to not be any considering P4DAN had some.
Characters: 0
It is just the P5 cast with but with some fan favorites locked behind a paywall. There are some small character interactions, but some of the dances like the all girls dance that are totally OOC.
TOTAL: 3/10
SummaryChoose from several difficulty levels and dance alongside the members of The Phantom Thieves in a customizable rhythm game experience. Characters can tear up the dance floor with a partner by performing well during a song and entering “Fever” mode; try out some of your favorite character combinations.
