The care and attention that Milestone has put into it, coupled in with the frankly ridiculous amount of content (including the amount of vehicles and modes) makes this an easy recommendation to add to your collection.
Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo offers a complete and varied experience, sponsored by the french legend. Lots of championships and events that show that a rally simulator can be very diverse. Easy to play but very punishing at times and with a graphical "furnish" far from other genre peers that make some impact in the final experience.
One of the greatest rally games that I have ever played! I will for sure choose to try also the next game you guys will create! The Career and Loeb Experience modes offer a challenge for all rally fans. And I like the challenges in the game, you can drive elimination races, perfect trajectory or sector challenges, together with the usual events such as Hill Climb and Rallycross. And Pikes Peak is good!
I had the chance to play this game a few times and I really loved it! I enjoyed my time spent driving off road with that car! Thank you Milestone! I know there are other rally games outside, but this mix really took me, and with my T300 is awesome. Don’t know if a simulation or if the physics is right , but I have lot of fun with it.
Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo is a game that exceeds expectations. It never fully outshines the competition, but it does enough on its own to make it worth your attention.
Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo is a correct game yet seems a product of another era, with lack of options and techniques their competitors are already using.
Another rally game that fails to deliver. Even though it is suitable for a more casual audience, because of its poor content and dated technology Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo disappoints.
I bought this game as a gift for one of my friends and he had the chance to play it yesterday all day long. We just couldn’t stop! Awesome game! The physics in Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo are much better than that and in every possible way and I like having fifty cars or so in the garage. Everything from WRC to JWRC, hill climb PWRC, rally cross, and Group B
Good game overall. At first I wanted to rate it 1/10. After a while, I thought 5/10. I finally give it the final score of 7/10.
You should know that different cars feel different here. I hated the car they give you at first, but after getting more decent cars the experience improved.
If you're new to the genre, know that most of the game is a "time attack" sort of thing, you don't see your opponents while racing, ultimately you should just beat the time. This "AI" time is inconsistent. In one race I get the gold medal, in the next one I get the last place. There is no "learning" involved, the times are just off. This seriously undermines the fun to be had.
There are still a few other modes, namely rallycross and elimination, but they are few.
In general the game is tough on easy difficulty. For comparison, I beat Ride 2 and stood on the peak of world standing without much trouble on easy difficulty.
If you get the game, make sure you don't throw it until you try the Loeb experience. With the interviews with Loeb and the different cars they give you to try (and unlock), it was a great experience (even if I only beat about half the events so far).
I recommend the game on deep sale.
Recommended for fans of the genre. Despite several flaws, I enjoy it quite a bit with a wheel. But you really need to be willing to look past the aged graphics and sounds.
I'd give this a 7 if it were not for the Day 1 paid DLC. This practice needs to stop ASAP.
+ Extensive career mode
+ Sim approach with proper narrow rally tracks
+ Overall fun factor
- Uninspired career mode approach (basically a copy-paste from Ride) with meaningless "ranking"
- Too many "mission type" events while having not enough proper multistage rallies
- Last gen graphics and sounds
- 30fps and still occasional framedrops
- Some handling bugs and absent wheel weight on some cars
- Day 1 paid DLC
Awful graphics, awful controls, awful camera and bad theme. This is a pretty mediocre release in every way. Graphics are like welcome to five years ago. Were they blindfolded when making the camera?
I have played SLRE on PS4 with a G29 wheel and I can say that it was the worst motorsport game I've ever tried. I don't know if it was the game, or the wheel, but the overall driving experience was awful. Far from what you feel in real life. If you switch from a car, -any car, not just racing ones- to this game, you will be surprised (in a bad way). The handling is really slow (it reacts around half a second later than your input), the feedback you get is weird (as in the steering firms and softens when you least expect it), and the physics are just as terrible. The only thing I like about it is the rich content (car selection, stages, etc.). Other than that, it is a failed attempt of a rally game.
