May 25, 2018Despite being very improvable in all its aspects, Tennis World Tour is today the best realistic actual tennis game today. That doesn't mean that is better than Top Spin 4 (2011).
-
Jun 4, 2018Still the best tennis video game of the season, but need to focus in future entries of the series. Tennis World Tour has a great career mode and it’s fun in the highest levels of difficulty, but needs to improve sound and visuals to try to fight against the great games of the last generation.
-
May 27, 2018This game has a quite solid foundation, although it’s clearly a game in progress. We believe it can be a great simulator, but at the moment it needs some work.
-
Jun 3, 2018In 2018 it should be unthinkable, for example, to publish a game with the multiplayer mode not implemented (even today it is hidden behind a little reassuring sign "Coming soon") or without the chance to play a double, neither against the AI, nor in multiplayer.
-
Jun 26, 2018After all these years of waiting, tennis fans deserved something better than this shallow and buggy pseudo-realistic sport experience.
-
Jun 24, 2018Tennis World Tour is simply a game not yet ready to go out on the market and it still really has too many gaps, flaws and uncertainties.
-
Jun 7, 2018In Tennis World Tour it seems you're watching a tennis match, more than playing it. Making good shots is far too easy, and the players' movements are too automated.
-
May 31, 2018Unimpressive tennis game that doesn't live up to its own expectations. While some core foundations seem nice, they are terribly overshadowed by poor controls and some terrible technical issues. It's officially launched but it definitely looks like it's still in beta.
-
May 28, 2018Claiming Top Spin's heritage probably put too much pressure on Breakpoint to begin with, even more so considering the studio's obvious resource limitations comparatively. Despite some wise compromises and interesting gameplay concepts, Tennis World Tour fails to develop, or even emulate its model's formula, due to an overall lack of expertise. A thorough imitation nevertheless, yet not sufficiently polished, deep, and authentic to fulfill realistic eSports ambitions.
-
May 31, 2018At its core this a decent tennis game, but the lack of content, the bugs and the lackluster presentation are concerning.
-
Jun 20, 2018Needless to spend too many words: Tennis World Tour is a total failure.
-
May 29, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 2, 2018As big a letdown as Tim Henman's efforts at Wimbledon, it does a huge disservice to Top Spin's legacy. No amount of Pimm's should sanction you buying this. [Issue#151, p.96]
-
Jun 11, 2018The career mode is pretty entertaining but that's about the only quality of this game. Controlling your player leaves a lot to be desired for one. The lack of other modes, horrible commentary and the lack of an online option further put a final nail in the coffin; Tennis World Tour feels like an unfinished, rushed product. A shame.
-
Jun 10, 2018There is no point in paying 60 dollars for a Tennis game when so many better alternatives are already available. One of the worst games of 2018.
-
Jun 4, 2018You could reductively describe tennis as a sport where you hit the ball back and forth. That would be unfair, since it strips away the strategy and physical feats – which is exactly what Tennis World Tour does to the sport. In real-life tennis, when you're so frustrated that you yell and throw your racket like a brat, it's decorous for your opponent to ignore you and tighten the strings on their racket. At least the A.I. in this game mutely shares a sense of embarrassment, hoping that the moment passes.
-
May 29, 2018Tennis World Tour has been quite ambitious, but the game feels unfinished. The gameplay is clumpsy, its graphics are terrible and the physics are awful. This tennis game aimed high but it failed.
-
Mar 14, 2019Maybe one day the developer will have the opportunity to show us a completed idea, but based on the current build, Tennis World Tour is disappointing.
-
Jun 4, 2018Sadly, if BigBen Interactive has sold us Tennis World Tour as "The new game from the creators of Top Spin", it couldn't be further from the truth. Clearly rushed to be released during the french open, the game suffers from broken gameplay, vastly outdated graphics and minimalist content.
-
May 25, 2018Those hoping for an engaging, exciting Tennis game are bound to be disappointed. Tennis World Tennis World Tour is an unpolished, unfinished simulation that’s impossible to recommend.
-
Jun 19, 2018Tennis World Tour is a disappointment, plain and simple. It’s one thing to not have key features at launch, but the absence of solid gameplay puts the final nail in the coffin. It’s not only dull with its weak and monotonous presentation but frustrating as you watch your generic created character not swing at a ball they could easily hit across the court.
-
Jun 12, 2018I understand that release windows are a big thing that helps boost sales maximizes exposure. I’m sure that’s the reasoning behind Tennis World Tour’s release in this state because I can’t think of any other reason a developer would willingly release such a debacle.
