Tower of Guns is an old style FPS based on speed, jumps, reflexes and difficulty. With only one life available and the impressive quantity of enemies and bullets, the frustration is often around the corner, but thanks to the numerous upgrades and power-ups, the game never becomes impossible (just a bit confusing).

With infinite ammo guns that need no reloading, Tower of Guns is an immensely satisfying (albeit brief) gaming experience that is as engaging to play, as it is stunning to look at.

The journey through Tower of Guns is what makes it fun; it isn’t a game about completion. Its intense firefights and ever-evolving environments are best enjoyed in short bursts. Many of your attempts end in failure, which might entice you to put the controller down, but its classic high-octane action is enough to lure you back for another run – at least for a while.

Fans of old school shooters will enjoy Tower of Guns for its classic approach to firing from the hip and strafing through borderline bullet hell stages. The randomly generated rooms and enemies repeat themselves sooner than we'd like and the frame-rate goes to hell in the really busy rooms. There are some tasty guns to be found though and it's a lot of fun in small bursts.

The premise of this game is a bit been-there-done-that, though that does not mean Tower of Guns doesn't have its charms. Technically, it's rather mediocre, but that doesn't take away the fact that there's definitely some fun to be had here.

Tower of Guns is a pretty decent, fun game to play casually, when you are in the mood to just blow stuff up. And it never takes itself too seriously.

The idea of a FPS rogue game where you earn new abilities as you try and make your way to the top sounds ever so promising, but with all the issues I had with it, I’ve already bailed out.

Kudos to the sole dev for this enjoyable game. Reminds me of my limited gaming in the 90's with Quake and the sort. Played for just a few hours, and enjoyed the exploring aspect. Lack of modding guns is a downside, but enjoyable to pickup random perks throughout the change up each rogue-like playthru, which can be short or long. On average from my 7 deaths so far I have played 35 minutes per life. I'm not sure I'll be incline to continue playing this after a week, even though shooters are not my style. Overall, I enjoy it enough to get all of the collectibles and guns, and find as many secret rooms/areas as possible, but slowly getting tired of this. I wish there were more of a leveling up system implemented like in RogueLegacy to change up your gun, loadout, and sorts. I REALLY DISLIKE the deathnumber at the end of each playthru. I know I died b/c the game is difficult, I don't want to hear loud metallic sounds each and every time. Expand

Sure, it reminds me of the old quake, doom etc fps games which was cool to see but it all falls apart when you start playing. controls feel bad, killing feels inadequate and bosses feel shallow.
the game seems to have some comedic moments and there are some cute robots that you get to meet at the start of the game but, that is it.
Tower of guns is nowhere near, and i do mean, NOWHERE near a 7 score!

I gave it a couple hours and it merely reminded me of all the fun I had playing the various Unreal tournament games and made me wish I was playing any of those instead of this. I think the most insulting this about this game was that Sony thinks these are the kinds of titles we want when we pay them $50 a month. Expand
