Crusader Kings III is a hobby all by itself. When you start a campaign in this one, you’re going to need to settle in for the long haul, and in the initial stages, where you’ll make mistakes (and often not understand why), it can all be too overwhelming and you’ll give up on it. That’s fine if you decide on that basis that the game isn’t for you. It’s not for everyone and it’s certainly not Civilization. However, there’s no other way this game could have been made, and when it all finally clicks, the depth and intelligence of what Crusader Kings III offers also make it impossible to put down. You’re not going to find a more complex strategy game, nor a more rewarding one, on consoles.

Crusader Kings lands on console in great shape and with all the contents, offering the same formula that has already won over millions of PC gamers. Simply a masterpiece.

Bringing this game to consoles turned it into the most beginner-friendly and fastest-loading version of Crusader Kings yet. It falls only slightly short of the PC version’s greatness simply through the game being built from the ground up for desktop gameplay. As it stands, Crusader Kings 3: Console Edition is the platonic ideal for console ports when it comes to strategy games.

One of the greatest strategy games of the latest years finally arrives to console. Crusader Kings III is deep and ccmplex yet accessible. We loved the story elements mixed with battles and treachery.

A gigantic medieval sandbox, Crusader Kings III has no equivalent. Insanely deep, the new nugget from Swedish developers Paradox takes strategy and RPG to the top. With the exception of an often errant artificial intelligence and a DLC policy that will not please everyone, this episode benefits from a remarkable interface, insane content and a much more pleasant visual approach. than previously. Each part is a discovery and leads to sometimes unsuspected decisions. And for the first time, the series has a tutorial and many contextual guides that open it up to a much wider audience, including on consoles. Without denying its origins, Crusader Kings III sublimates the franchise and leads us to bow to it. Remarkable.

Crusader Kings III: Console Edition is another excellent port. The game expresses strategy in the best way and carries it in its own veins, it can be complex due to its nature but the best of all is that every match is different.

A valiant, yet only partially successful, attempt to bring Crusader Kings to PlayStation. The cumbersome control system holds it back. [Issue#14, p.91]

Absolute best strategy game on ps5. Highly addictive. The controls couldn't be better on a console.

Been playing this for nearly a year on console (ps5 majorily and Xbox on gamepass) now and thought I'd write a review. Unbelievable game,Been playing this for nearly a year on console (ps5 majorily and Xbox on gamepass) now and thought I'd write a review. Unbelievable game, considering it's been ported from PC it is still super easy to navigate the menus. The people complaining about the time it takes for the cursor to come up or the radials to open, I mean come on, really. They have done a great job to make it accessible for a controller. I couldnt recommended this game any more highly. Expand

Das spiel macht sehr viel spass. Leider gibt es immer wieder Bugs und die Steuerung ist natürlich nicht so bequem wie auf dem PC.

man, the "game journalists" sure had their copy-pastes ready to go. Did any of them really play the game? it goes further than "inferiorman, the "game journalists" sure had their copy-pastes ready to go. Did any of them really play the game? it goes further than "inferior controls and graphics" (for the controls it's the most obvious statement ever and for the graphics it's simple untrue)

What's more Important here is the ps5 version is straight up missing content, can't modify a CoA, can't even create a custom ruler!
Not even talking about mods, (which are obviously missing as well and a big reason why people play on pc) this is supposed to be base game stuff.

Other content was carved out to try to sell you the 35€ season pass, of course, some of which has been out for over a year on pc.

As someone who played over 1k hours on pc and only a couple on ps5, I got to agree the controls take time to get used to BUT, at the same time I can't see how they could do better with the limitations the studio had, a controller, any strategy game will feel wonky with it. I didn't get the time to get acclimated though because after only a few hours the game crashed.

Still giving it a 5 because despite this being a shallow husk, it's still based on a truly great game, easily playable with even a medium tier pc, Which I recommend you pick up instead if you have the choice.

edit: if you care about trophies, all are glitched for me, Completed multiple requirements and none have popped. this isn't the case for everybody though.

Played trhough tutorial. Which was a chore. Dismayed to find out there's no create your own ruler. I don't want to play a campaign. I wanted aPlayed trhough tutorial. Which was a chore. Dismayed to find out there's no create your own ruler. I don't want to play a campaign. I wanted a sandbox. Never played any of these games before but I can't believe I blew 75 bucks on this 2002 Era cash grab of a game. Lazy **** developers. Expand
