This is a horde simulator that gives us a rewarding and satisfying experience of a relatively simple technological architecture. Soulstone Survivors promises long hours of fun for casual or veteran gamers to unlock everything on the table.
This is one of the better "Survivor"-type game (or bullet heaven as some call them). It has more depth than the usual, requires manual aiming (though not firing) and player-input dodging/dashing.
This was better than other games of the genre for me as I found the other ones where you only control movement too basic and limited.
This one has may potential builds and classes, with a good meta-progression system, good difficulty options and mechanics that force you to move around and not just camp a corner of the map.
The spells are varied, though some spells are very similar and come in different variants per element. Each element of spells has their unique spells too, though, and many builds are viable, though you will usually want to focus on what your class enables best (logically).
I feel like you CAN sometimes get bad RNG and not get the spells you want, but you can add re-rolls to your spells with runes, and you can find spells infinitely until you decide you only want passive skills anymore. I find that getting unlucky doesn't really happen too often, you usually find something close enough to what you wanted that you can make do.
Fun for 20h and an okay deal for 10€ but it certainly isn't a roguelite. Think of Diablo rifts with different chars.
The very few synergies and skill chains there are are fun, but overall most of the runs feel the same, with some must-picks and a lot of nonsense. In 10 Minutes you will probably get 50 +5% stat upgrades. There is no weapon or skill evolution and very little strategy. The UI is a mess with a controller. At the beginning, the dodging mechanic is interesting but later you do nothing but dode. The game gets frustratingly stressful and difficult in the late game, letting you hit a glass ceiling of progression. It's one of the games that make you aggressive. Graphics are okay but lack inspiration, however you need to scale down the effects anyway.
