Persona 5 Strikers is a fantastic sequel to one of the best JRPGs of all time. It’s less of a Warriors game and more of an action RPG with fun, fluid combat, great characters, and an excellent story and soundtrack.

Persona 5 Strikers is a perfect game for anyone who already knows the original title, be it from games, manga or anime. Being a very cool action RPG with an original story and very charismatic characters, it will delight everyone who plays it.

Persona 5 Strikers proves to be a beautiful and worthy sequel to the original game, with the cast, story and combat all shining in old and new ways. [Issue #52 – May/June 2021, p. 67]

Persona 5 Strikers is not a typical spin off; it is a full-fledged sequel filled with real characters, a gripping story, and an addicting gameplay loop. And though it is a different genre than its antecedent, the love and personality poured into this game puts it on par with the best follow ups I’ve ever played. Since Atlus creates a new set of heroes for every mainline Persona entry, this could be the last time we see Joker. I hope not. Persona 5 Strikers made me relive my love for Persona 5 and the Phantom Thieves, and I never want to see them go.

Much more than a spin-off, Persona 5 Strikers is a worthwhile sequel of the original game. The action-style combat feels at home thanks to many adaptations, and it was great to spend more time with these beloved characters.

Persona 5 Strikers is my favorite spin-off game in the series. It takes the concepts of one of my favorite games, puts them in a new genre, and has a story that goes above and beyond what was expected from it. Best of all, for those who thought Persona 5 was too long, Persona 5 Strikers is presented in a much more concise package. I hope ATLUS revisits this style of game again because this is a great framework as is and it could only improve further with another attempt to iron out some of the flaws. Koei Tecmo’s adaptation of Persona 5’s aesthetic is quite impressive, they really outdid themselves.

Persona 5 Strikers surprised me. I was expecting something down the lines of Hyrule Warriors or Fire Emblem Warriors – a game that was true to the franchise, but also explicitly a “Musou” title. But Strikers isn't that. Koei Tecmo has somehow crafted not only a genuine sequel to Persona 5, the JRPG, but the team has managed to equal it. Or – if action combat is your thing – perhaps even exceed it. That is no mean feat.

Persona 5 Strikers offers a different kind of experience than Persona 5, but this game wins you over with the successful, original combination of the action-packed real-time strategy combat system and the delicious Persona 5 style.

Persona 5 Strikers is an absolute love letter to Persona 5 and a worthy sequel. Despite some camera issues and some massive framerate dips in the Switch version, the game is an absolute joy, filled with bizarre villains, fantastic plot twists and fun new mechanics.

If you liked Persona 5 (is there anyone who didn't?), Strikers should be a no-brainer choice. The gameplay isn't exactly our cup of tea, but the story is so interesting, the characters are so lovable and it just looks SO cool, that you would be mad if you didn't accept the Phantoms Thieves calling card.

Persona 5 Strikers manages to blend the warriors' gameplay and its brilliant source material into something new and exciting. While some of the great systems and quirks of Persona 5/Royal aren't around for this entry, this more streamlined and linear entry into the series has plenty of the Persona goodness still intact. With a great story, characters, and depth to combat, it's a definite must for fans of the source material. It may not have been the game we expected, but it's well worth your time.
  13. Persona 5 Strikers is probably the most innovative Musou game in years, thanks to its closeness to the core “Persona” formula.

Persona 5 Strikers is not your usual hack-n-slash game from Omega Force. It is rather a wonderful fusion that takes the best pieces out of the well known Warriors formula and Persona, which is then mixed together into something completely unique. If you are looking for a deeper hack-n-slash, this is the way to go.

Getting the Phantom Thieves back together for some fast-paced Musou-style combat is incredibly fun. And while it doesn’t quite scratch the turn-based itch, Strikers excels in other aspects.

Persona 5 Strikers is a slick and stylish spin-off that manages to successfully combine a surprisingly strong story with some satisfying Musou-inspired hack-and-slash action. There are a few issues here and there, with some necessary grinding at points, slight difficulty imbalances and a camera that can be a bit of a pain during busy battles but, overall, this is a thoroughly entertaining action RPG that comes highly recommended.

Persona 5 Strikers does the seemingly impossible in mashing up two very different genres and striking a balance that works. Beyond just its incredibly satisfying gameplay, Strikers' story is more than a worthy successor to Persona 5, and the two together make for an experience that is going to be difficult to match going forward — either in Persona games, or in Warriors games. There are some small issues with the Switch port, but all in all there's little to complain about. It's a fantastic game, from top to bottom, and almost makes up for the absence of Persona 5 on the Switch.

Persona 5 Strikers is a fun window back to the friendships and stylish aesthetic that made Persona 5 a hit. However, for better or worse this is its own game. Strikers proves that you can go back home, but it'll never quite be the same.

Persona 5 Strikers is a good action role-playing game, but an imperfectly polished combat system and the absence of some of the series' core elements make it a must-buy only for fans of the Phantom Thieves.

I like it a lot, and I felt really happy with it when I finally finished it. It’s a game that I want to recommend, but that recommendation has to come with a big caveat: if you’re a Persona fan that loves the Phantom Thieves but you’re just not interested in the gameplay, it may be more worth your time to just play Persona 5 again.

Persona 5 Strikers is a worthy sequel of the acclaimed JRPG with a solid narrative and a more action oriented combat system which gets very confusing more often than not.

Although it runs and looks worse than on PC and PS4, Persona 5 Strikers is still fantastic on Switch, with a great story, superb combat, and more Phantom Thieves, which is always going to be a positive for me.

Persona 5 Strikers calls back the beloved heroes of the original RPG in a sympathetic but sometimes rough beat'em all. Accross all of Japan, Omega Force's new crossover delivers a colorful follow-up which still lacks for true depth and originality, still sticking to the visual identify of its brilliant inspiration.

Omega Force has made an incredible effort to keep the essence of Persona within a musou, but the fight is lost between two waters. The best thing is again the talks between the phantom thieves and spending an atypical summer with them.

Persona 5 Strikers is as flashy as Persona 5, featuring the same gorgeous artwork and animations, great dialogue, and brilliant music. It unfortunately lacks the meat on the bone that made the original such an addicting experience to its loyal fanbase. It also provides little incentive for newcomers to play it despite its egregious length being drastically cut down.

Now, i was not a big fan of the arena type spin offs, so i was on the fence for this one...But by god i am so glad i did decide to try it out. I'm so in love with these characters, coming from persona 5 royal ofcourse so i do know what the story us is about. The gameplay is fluid, action packed and sometimes you do really have to think very fast in all the action going on. Alot of what was great in the first persona 5, is still embedded in this one, albeit some features are missing..but that is not a deal breaker for me.

Yes, it is very reccomended you play persona 5 first, if you dont want to then just catch up on youtube. Great fun, honestly :)

Who are these characters? Why there is a talking cat? What's going on in the game universe? Who is even my main character?
If there would be a Persona 5 on the Switch before it - maybe then i'd know and enjoy this spin-off.
    For now? Don't bother.
