Raging Justice is the perfect game to run through in a single sitting or try to complete the list of challenges for each level. Fans of the genre will find many resemblances to games like Final Fight and Streets of Rage. There’s enough replay value to invite you in—just don’t let the difficulty scare you away.

As a throwback to an arcade favourite, Raging Justice does a decent enough job to provide you with the short and shallow candy fix that made the genre appealing in the first place. It may be ugly in design, in a 90s 3D model pre-rendered kind of way, but it does have a plasticine charm to it all to make it visually stand out.

When played solo the game is perhaps a little too unforgiving to recommend to everyone, but when you rope in a second player it becomes one of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences on Switch; working together to clean up the streets is fun, but you won't be able to resist occasionally stabbing your ally in the back, just for old time's sake.

Raging Justice is what it is: a modern take on a classic arcade beat-’em-up. If all you want is something that reminds you of the Double Dragons of yore, this is a fine way to burn through a night with a friend. But if you’re looking for something substantive or something that doesn’t have vexing controls and frustrating moments, this doesn’t deliver that. What you see is what you get. No more no less.

In Raging Justice we will find the essence of the beat 'em up of the old school games such as Final Fight or Street of Rage, but carrying it out with less success than its referents. The (occasionally) rough control and the short content tarnish the gaming experience.

A charming homage to Streets Of Rage and other scrolling beat ‘em-ups, but it doesn’t overcome the genre’s limitations and manages to add a few of its own.

The most impressive thing about this is its pleasantly corny, '80s-esque name, because, besides the fact that Raging Justice is a brawler of below average quality, it makes the mistake of being way too much in love with its source material, and doesn't stray one bit from it.

The old school controls and hit-box detection require precision and patience to master. The bosses are tough and have their own rules but the common enemies are fair, whatever you can do to them they can do to you. This game makes me want to build an arcade cabinet for my Switch. Great graphics. Responsive controls. You're missing out if you don't play this. Expand

Genau was man erwartet, leicht gediegen; wem Side-scrolling beat 'em ups gefallen, wird nicht entäuscht.

The sound is disappointing, some of the music is just plain bad. Stages are just alright. Gameplay gets the job done but is nothing special. Graphics are a mixed bag, nice in some ways bad in others. In the end it just feels like the kind of thing that really doesn't stand out, true classics are a lot more appealing. This might please some hardcore beat-em-up fans who are just begging for a new game in the genre with a similar look to some cheesy 16-bit games but outside of that it is hard to recommend. Expand

The graphics made it very appealing but the gameplay and sound were so disappointing. It felt extremely repetitive without any real rewards. The multiplayer was more fun but still lacked the core attributes a side scrolling beat em up should have.
Unfortunately I went in expecting it to be a Streets Of Rage 2018 improvement but it failed to even shine the boots of the cult classic.
