With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy's entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run. Pop culture's most iconic archeologist whips through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the LEGO Star Wars games. [LucasArts] Expand

A magnificent celebration of all things Indy and a great primer for the new movie. [July 2008, p.66]
  2. Lego Indiana Jones’s success comes from keeping the fun gameplay of the Lego Star Wars games, but injecting the classic Indy moments, music, and characters
  3. Lego Indiana Jones is so successful because it reimagines the films it’s based on without reproducing them.

As enjoyable as the game is, it's even more fun with a second player (although there's no online play, sadly).
  5. This simple gameplay is appropriate to the game’s primary target audience, children. But it is notable just how much fun adults can have with it.

LEGO Indiana Jones sticks to an almost identical formula to the LEGO Star Wars games before it, but with its adventure-themed gameplay and incredibly entertaining cooperative features, the game is a solid purchase for anyone who wants to have some pure, uncomplicated fun.
  7. Perhaps the worst thing you can say about Lego Indy is that it is not as instantly likeable as the Lego Star Wars games, and that it’s more of a relationship you’ll have to work at instead of being the love at first sight Travellers Tales' previous efforts were.

I played it when I was a kid around 2011 and played it a second time in 2022. My favorite parts are the hidden Star Wars eastereggs. Very lovely.

The developers put a lot of effort into the character and world design, even if it was 2008.

    Definitely worth a try.

I dig the choke hold's, that was fun. it's almost like the chainsaw in gears where you never get tired of it. You can now pick up weapons and they make really good use of indy's whip. The big jump for the girls is >alright<. You dont use it too much but it helps. First movie is fun. The puzzles are interesting but not too hard. 2nd movie is awful, almost requiring you to have to run two players or even more idiotic the other player to drop out so you can see the items. And I've got a decent sized flat panel lcd! The 3rd is better than the 2nd but not as good as one. Puzzles are a little less all over the place. The graphics are..well it's the wii. wii's graphics are a joke but it's what you expect if you played the star wars games. The cut scenes are still a laugh, some much better than others whereas the star wars was solid all the way through. I hate to compare it but you just have to because of it's glaring overall terribadness. It's not a must have, you'll get a few hours of enjoyment but it's not a worthwhile purchase either. Expand

Sure, it has the same formula and look, but it simply isn't handled as well. Although the game does have the Indiana Jones feel, it just doesn't work for a game like this that is mostly about puzzles. The game is hard to play without two players, and is lacking much needed split-screen. A lot of the game forces you to NOT be Indiana Jones, which isn't fun if you have to be someone stupid like Satipo or Willie. The game does a good job with some of the movies' best moments, but some like the Boulder Chase and the Mine cart scene, are poorly handled. The vehicle segments are handled terribly as well. Though there are worse Indiana Jones games out there, people might want to avoid this game unless they are a big fan of the movies. Expand

This game is like most Lego games: a dumbed down movie videogame for kids. I love Indiana Jones, but this game really doesn't do it any justice.

OneI had this game for three years and played it from time to time, but it's no one of those games where I feel like I can come back to. One reason is because of the difficulty of some puzzles in the game and it sometimes gets irritating. But once you get through the game and start trotting through the levels, it can be a very fun game. Expand
