Hyperdot encapsulates brilliant the short, snappy arcade thrills that used to dominate places such as Xbox Live Arcade. Super simple to grasp, yet with a real challenge for dedicated players, it will no doubt keep most hooked for far longer than they intended to sit down and play.
Hyperdot on Xbox One is a fun, minimal and inoffensive arcade game. With a friend, dodging a barrage of colourful shapes can be a blast. But playing the game alone only exposes how repetitive Hyperdot can get despite some really tense challenges and a surprisingly deep level editor.
I would have given this game a 9 if it weren't for the fact that it's 2021 and you cannot play this game online with a friend or multiple friends, or family members that are hundreds of miles away, very unfortunate, I like LAN when the situation calls for it, but you should have both.
That said, fun game if you're into this sort of thing, is fun with others locally too whether they're children or adults, we had a blast and I got through the campaign pretty quick.
HyperDot is a Simple Bullet-Hell game. With simple and bright graphics and one objective, Don't Get Hit! There really isn't much to the game, but it will lock you in for the ride. you control a dot, and the screen gets filled fast with projectile patterns for you to dodge. The stage times are relatively short most around 30 seconds, but the challenge is real in those small time windows. Some times you have to collect items, that randomly spawn around the stage, with some powerups randomly appearing too. With 100+ Levels in the Single-player mode. Face off against a friend with multiplayer mode, making the challenge competitive. The game sadly only supports local play, but having four people dashing around like crazy to be the last dot on the field. If this isn't enough for you the game features a level editor, so you can create your own challenges to either test yourself, or your Couch Co-Op buddies. I didn't expect to be as entranced by the game as I was, but it gives you this "Just one more" feeling after each completed stage. HyperDot is an excellent choice to add to your party game collection. Fans of bullet-hell type games should also feel right at home with HyperDot.
