You are a solar-powered craft. The sun is your death timer. Hurtle towards the sunset at breakneck speed in a futile race against time. Race The Sun is inspired by arcade games of the past with a focus on high scores, short game sessions, and a sense of pure fun mingled with a nerve-wracking tension. The rules are simple: don't crash, stay in the light, and don't slow down! This is a cross-save, cross-buy title.

This game is completely in my wheelhouse, as the saying goes. It’s great if you have a few minutes to wait for something (such as a game update finishing up), but it’s equally superb at getting you to play it just one more time. Therefore, you won’t be returning to your planned activity until you start yet another race you know without a doubt you will lose … and you’re quite okay with that. Race the Sun is a fantastic game at a bargain price that deserves a portion of your Xbox One’s hard drive space.

A game that provides fun and challenge at a frantic pace, players should take a look at Race The Sun, particularly those who are fans of the endless runner genre. While the short individual runs may not lend themselves well to extended lengths of play, the game works well in short bursts.

Today I love Race The Sun. Tomorrow though? Well that may well be a different story. But at least I’ll only have to wait 24 hours before loving it again.

To unlock the top tier attachments, and modes, it will take some dedication, and eventually gameplay does become easier, but no matter how good you get you’ll eventually crash or have the sun set on your gameplay. The pace is frantic, the speed is tense, and Race the Sun is a perfect pick up and play game that allows for short burst play. I don’t suggest sitting for hours at a time with it, as the courses change each day, but if you’re looking for a quick in-between game, you can try and Race the Sun, but your enjoyment may vary depending on the day.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is amazingly fun, and fast paced. I love the fluidity. The only bad thing I would say is that there are some parts with how fast your ship goes it is easy to crash in between the pillars when trying to grab certain perks. Expand

The gameplay is very simple, But there are little nuances to the game that can make a world of difference in the form of upgrades you can give your vehicle. The sense of speed is very cool in this game, in fact I think it slightly surpasses my favorite Tron run/r, though the gameplay is not as deep as that game, it keeps you on your toes the whole time. Very solid game. Expand

    Race the Sun
    Endless Frustrations
Race the sun is an endless runner game where you control a ship trying to rack up as many points as possible..
Before you start there are challenges to clear...
clearing these challenges will progress the level of your ship...
as you progress your level you unlock new drops to help you get further as well as ship perks,,
This helps with the one more try mentality you need in an endless runner..
Especially since this is all that the game is...
The world isn’t too interesting and that’s mostly due to the fact that is changes every 24 hours…
but it’s still thrilling trying to find the right path in a region, remembering where you messed up and trying to overcome these obstacles next time…
as there definitely are some wrong paths with impossible obstacles unless you have a specific pick up with you…
this can make the game feel a bit cheap, frustrating and unfair..
a smack in the face like your perseverance meant nothing when you get into a situation you have no control in…
This ultimately hurt my overall experience of what otherwise is a fairly enjoyable quick break kind of game..
    There’s not much depth here…
complete challenges, stay out of the shadows, and race the sun.
    I give race the sun
    a 6.5/10
