This is what good ideas looks like. Ambitious, yet astonishingly well-executed. Tons of bad language, violence in fantasy/cop movie mash-up. Bright offers a clever critique of racism from a world of spells and sorcery. 9/10

I honestly think this movie is brilliant. I love the setting and the whole elves/orcs in a city. I can not wait for no.2 and hopefully a 3rd installment. I can not understand why critics and Brent do not like this movie. Louise and I loved it.

Bright is an awesome movie. It's just as awesome as the fact that critics hate it but users love it. Hopefully, Netflix will order a second one or even a serie, and will ignore the critics.

Sometimes a movie filled with cliches cans still be enjoyable and even though Bright is filled with every cop movie cliche you can think of the fantasy spin does enough to keep it fresh.

Performances - Smith has portrayed this type of character before so probably not a huge stretch, he is still enjoyable to watch with his natural enthusiasm flowing through.

This is my favorite Edgerton performance, slap some paint on the man and he really seems to fall into the role. If you didnt know it was him under all that makeup you would be hard pressed to guess who it is.

Supporting cast is pretty solid if not slightly cliche/generic, bad guys felt a little meh but again not terrible.

Visuals: Beautiful film across the board, i feel like they sat down with a map of L.A and put some thought into how it would look with fantasy inspirations. Makeup and sets are on point through out, CG was right up there as well.

Plot: This is probably my only really gripe, pacing feels really off and for a film that takes place of the course of a night it just seems to be a little rushed. I really really hope they expand on this world and either develop a series or more movies (i think one more film is at least in the works) as there is a lot to be explored here.

Overall, turn your brain down a little, dont over think it and enjoy everything this movie does right. Its not a dumb film but if you start thinking about the premise too much you are probably missing the point.… Expand

Don't listen to the dumb critics, this is a fun watch. Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous and ponderous sometimes, but it's a nice melding of traditional copy drama and Tolkien-esque fantasy.

I really appreciated the vision and story that Bright told, and I loved that it always knew what it was, and never shied away from it. The film even got a few chuckles out of me! At times, Bright feels a little bloated, some scenes are a little hokey, and a few plot elements never go anywhere, but these are nicely balanced out by some great action choreography, beautiful cinematography, and some really nice acting from our three leads. If you are looking for a fresh action film, give Bright a watch.… Expand
