If you're looking for a review to decide whether or not you should check "John Wick: Chapter 2" - all I can tell you is this: did you like the original? This movie OBLITERATES it. I can't recall a sequel being that much better than the first. And I loved John Wick: Chapter 1! It's crazy. John Wick: Chapter 2 is a fresh, action packed, smart, and fulfilling sequel. If you enjoyed the first one, you will love Chapter 2. If you haven't seen the first one and if you enjoy action movies, secret societies, or assassin movies, you will LOVE THIS! One last word: PENCIL!!!

Disclosure: I think the first John Wick is just about perfect, and it felt like a new shift in modern movies. It felt fresh and revealed its world with smart, simple choices. Going into John Wick: Chapter 2, I was curious about how it would continue the story. It felt fresh and revealed its world with smart, simple choices. Going into John Wick: Chapter 2, I was curious about how it would continue the story. I didn't have to think about that for very long.

Chapter 2 opens at 100mph of amazing action and keeps you interested from the first scene and on. More of the mechanics of this fantastic hitman global network are revealed and developed without hesitation – trusting in the viewer to follow along. The movie is rewarded for that choice, as the story is able to proceed without slowing down. The movie is violent, yes. Cinematically so. But the brutal nature of the carnage here is balanced by many moments of refreshing humor.

I think Chapter 2 is just as good as the original, with the first movie's origin story just barely setting its status apart as a "modern classic" for now – though I would bet that ultimately, these movies will be viewed best as one entity, similar to the way the Kill Bill movies merge to become one massive epic. John Wick might just surpass that.… Expand

In regards to action, this film is utterly fantastic, the execution of stunts, the fluent choreography and fresh depiction of violence, it makes for an excellent follow-up to its predecessor.

'John Wick: Chapter 2' continues from where the first one left off, and turns its action all the way to eleven. Personally I still prefer the original due to its indie feel, this one feels like Hollywood have tried to take a slice, but it is still nonetheless a defining moment in the action genre. The smart suits, the stunning architecture, the eccentric personas and the camera that never shies away, however I find Riccardo Scamarcio's character less of an "evil" character in comparison to Alfie Allen in the first one, thus not caring too much of his outcome, but it's just so hard to diminish how good of a film this is.

If this and the first film are anything to go by, John Wick will gain his status as an iconic cinema character and one day stand upon other action greats like John McClane and James Bond, here's hoping to a successful future for the franchise. This isn't mindless action, this is smart, well-executed action with a purpose. Action like no other.… Expand

It's undoubtedly bigger and better than the original; it has a more cohesive, and convincing plot, more compelling story, and more doses of thrills.

This sequel also expands this ravishing universe of criminals and assassins to another level with more rules, bigger scope and reach. It alsoIt's undoubtedly bigger and better than the original; it has a more cohesive, and convincing plot, more compelling story, and more doses of thrills.

This sequel also expands this ravishing universe of criminals and assassins to another level with more rules, bigger scope and reach. It also emphasizes on the titular character's charm as well as Keanu Reeves's charm.

But it's also undoubtedly less entertaining than the original; it has "more of the same" choreographed action set-pieces, which , of course, don't feel as fresh as they were in its predecessor. But it still nothing short of pure fun.
Another issue I've with this movie is that the denouement is a bit messy, and longer than it should be.

All in all, John Wick: Chapter 2 is one hell of a ride that with its exceptional pulp flick make almost every other pulp action flick seems nothing more than a cash grab!

More unrealistic "take on a hundred guys at the same time and win" BS. First one was cartoony and cheesy AF. Second one is no better. To think, people like this garbage better than something much more believable and classy like The Equalizer.
