Though the story is mostly faithful to the established origin of the character, it's not until the last 15 minutes, when "The William Tell Overture" arrives in its full glory, that this starts to feel a little like The Lone Ranger. But that's too little, too late. And when The Ranger (played here by Armie Hammer) finally shouts "Hi-yo Silver," the moment is spoiled by turning it into a joke. Read full review

It represents 2 1/2 of the longest hours on record, a jumbled botch that is so confused in its purpose and so charmless in its effect that it must be seen to be believed, but better yet, no. I felt like I needed to write a review for this because of all the negative press it has been receiving. My wife and I absolutely loved this movie! We were smiling through the entire movie, and everyone applauded at the end of the movie! After watching the movie I'm truly speechless at these reviews. Watch for yourself, you won't know what on Earth they are talking about. I won't bother trying to defend it, go see for yourself how awesome it is.

I actually went to a sneak preview showing last night with my wife and we both REALLY liked it. It's mostly a drama with some action and a little comedy. People go in expecting one thing and review it harshly when it doesn't deliver the movie they imagined. Parents with kids, a word of caution, a lot of people get killed and there is some other gore as well. This is a more serious movie than Pirates of the Caribbean but I don't think that is a bad thing.… Expand

Despite the critical reviews and audience’s general hatred of the film, I really enjoyed “The Lone Ranger.” The film is not without its problems as Armie Hammer’s performance is a little cheesy for the fabled hero of the old west but he eventually gets better as the film progresses.Despite the critical reviews and audience’s general hatred of the film, I really enjoyed “The Lone Ranger.” The film is not without its problems as Armie Hammer’s performance is a little cheesy for the fabled hero of the old west but he eventually gets better as the film progresses. Secondly, the story felt a little long and it tended to drag at points. However, there are some great action sequences, William Fichtner is great as the villain and Johnny Depp is pretty entertaining as Tonto. The film has its good and it has its bad but I enjoyed it more than I hated it.… Expand

The Lone Ranger is an ok movie. It's got a very basic plot, some really good acting from The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and Tonto (Johnny Depp) there's only a few little odd scenes where Johnny Depp feels out of character.

The dialogue can feel quite forced from the side characters at scenes and the same goes with the main characters.

The cinematography from Bojan Bazelli is alright. He does a pretty decent job on capturing certain scenes pretty well in my opinion.

Also, the action sequences are pretty unique and clever for the most part, I really enjoyed the action sequences where they're fighting on the train, all of those ones were honestly class in my opinion.

There's a few funny moments throughout this movie, which made me laugh quite a bit.

I think the problems, I've got with this movie would have to be how many **** characters it tries to throw in, it feels quite bloated with characters.

You start to forget about most of the villains who are still in this movie because my god, you start to forget about them quite quickly.

Another problem I've got with this movie would have to be, how some of the scenes have been put together.

There's a certain scene which I noticed, where it feels like something's been cut out or they've shot some scenes before those certain ones.

Overall, The Lone Ranger isn't that bad of a movie, it's got a few problems here and there but the brilliant acting from Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer save the movie quite a bit. The same goes for the action sequences, the action sequences are very unique and very clever and they're very enjoyable.… Expand

Not Good
The Lone Ranger, Like Prince Of Persia tries WAY too hard to be like Pirates Of The Caribbean, But with this film, It’s A LOT more obvious.

What is this? What was the goal because of it was to create a convoluted white washed retelling of a classic tale of two likey adversaries in unlikely paths competing against the other's intrest. It's humor is a waste alongside the weak action sequences.
