For the band’s devotees, it’s a trip down memory lane and a true celebration of Metallica and their musical prowess. Isham captures an upbeat, positive energy from both the crowd and the performers, bringing the show to life as it happened rather than try to mask the shiny new surroundings with cinematic flourishes.
Even better than the first S&M, when you think how old these guys got 20 years later. They still rock and are not afraid to try new things. The Cliff tribute was the apex of the concert.
Another incredible performance and showing for the legendary band. Just like S&M 1, the addition of the symphony to their music is at worst, a new flavor, and at best, definitive versions of the songs they play. While not definitively flawless - there is always nitpicking that can be done with the mix and what volumes you wish were pushed more to the forefront or towards the back - the overall product is still something exceptional and will leave a very positive mark on their catalog. No different than the first attempt in 99.
1 hour after seeing this in the cinema. I dont know, i was laid back but on this, but looking forward to it. For once not looking up the setlist. My god, this was awesome, the sound in the cinema was great, and everything for me was cool as **** Of course i missed a couple of songs, youll always do, but all in all a great setlist. Cant wait to see it on bluray and rock out as hell! Highligts for me, Bells, Confusion, Halo, Anesthesia, Unforgiven III, All within, One, Puppets, well, all of them. A razorshap performace from the entire band, but James stood out as always, and sounded great.. Hope you can feel the love from all over the world James, you can fight this. Much love from Trondheim, Norway.
As Metallica fan, I think we had we needed. The sound was great but S&M need some time to digest because of the complexity of the music. Actually they had the best of S&M 99 and added some songs from recent albums. I'm waiting for the album to listen to it on my headphone and enjoy it. Unforgiven 3 with Symphony and James was my favorite part.
