This madcap spoof on The Incredible Hulk is an outlandish mix of gory violence and realistic special effects.

A Superhero Movie with a all out gory twist, what not to love about this inspirational movie.

Cruddy, primal, extremely violent, and fairly entertaining, this 1984 feature from the New York-based exploitation outfit Troma, Inc. (Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz) captures some of the snot-flicking spirit of the old EC comics. How much you'll enjoy its deliberate crudity probably depends on how far you can let yourself regress to surly adolescence.
Despite borrowing from sources as diverse as Frankenstein and The Producer, it all falls apart after an hour.
Though it is silly, sleazy, and graphically violent, The Toxic Avenger does hold a bit of warped charm for fans of this sort of thing.
A monstrously crude, blatantly tasteless film reminiscent of the now bygone drive-in movies. It's also sterling evidence of why they haven't been missed.

A tour de farce for the longest running independent movie studio of all time, Troma’s triumph of trash is unapologetically cruddy, putrid and vulgar, particularly in its aggressive first act, but miraculously mutates into a veracious tongue-in-cheek superhero spoof thanks to a toxic vat of camp and fun. Striking big on a shoestring budget, directing duo Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman turn up the violence and gore to an extreme eleven with cheap special effects work that sometimes sickens, yet never detracts from the film’s goofy and warped charm. A few sleazy standouts include Mitch Cohen as the titular monster, the sadistic fan favourite Gary Schneider and Sandy Farina’s cheesy theme, “Body Talk”. 1984 saw this splatter comedy romp released to almost no reaction, yet today Tromaville’s flagship crime fighter has destroyed evil in three subsequent sequels, an animated kids’ tv series, a video game and even his own successful musical. Not just another pretty face after all.
8/10 mops to the face.

Good, and fun Horror comedy. A good way to introduce audiences to Troma movie. Younger viewers obviously must stay away from this...even with adult supervision...because it's a comedy slash parody but it's full of violence, strong language, gore and so on...
Young viewers can watch other b-movie...like Killer Tomatoes for example...still good but also more "polite".
Note: It's a low budget, undergound, **** you have to use a different yardstick to review this kind of show.
