Tick, Tick…Boom! packs a great deal of joy into a story that pushes a more modern and darker take on the make-it-or-break-it mantra of classic ‘40s musicals. The songs are engaging and staged with a feel-good choreography that consists less of formalized dance (for the most part) than it does gleeful bursts of movement. Read full review

Perhaps the greatest gift of Tick, Tick … Boom! is that it rejects the false narrative of the artist’s one big shot, the make-it-or-break-it moment. Garfield is fine, if a bit one-note in his show-must-go-on energy. The real issue is that the film is maniacally focused on Larson as the uber-struggling artist in a way that eventually feels monstrous, devouring any other character or concern that happens to cross its path. Read full review

One of the best musical performances I've ever seen. Andrew delivers all of himself in the most perfect performance of his career. The script follows the songs very well and the viewer easily identifies with the character's frustrations. Perfect tribute.

What is most surprising about this biography is how the cast - Andrew Garfield in particular - sing naturally. The story is absorbing and you immediately empathize with the characters. This end of the year, it is a big surprise.

Não por causa do filme, muito pelo contrário, é por saber que a história de Jonathan Larson foi interrompida precocemente e, se não fosse por isso, teríamos mais ótimas horas de filme contando passo a passo de suaÉ difícil terminar "Tick, Tick... Boom!" sem sentir o sentimento de vazio. Andrew Garfield está sensacional, mas o que foi Robin de Jesús em cena? Difícil não se emocionar.

Desde "Chicago" um musical não me prendia a ponto de eu não notar que boa parte de sua história é contada através das canções. Você é levado pelas músicas enquanto ri, chora e torce pelo personagem.

This is the rare film adaptation that elevates the show it's based on. Tick Tick Boom the musical draws much of its power from Larson's successor work Rent and his untimely death. The film has the benefit of drawing on that hindsight and Miranda does a great job highlighting the show'sThis is the rare film adaptation that elevates the show it's based on. The film has the benefit of drawing on that hindsight and Miranda does a great job highlighting the show's themes against Larson's real life. I think the musical, and the film, could use some lyrical reworking. The songs are often a bit too literal with their message, like the characters are just singing their internal monologue. Watching TTB and Rent, it's clear how much better Larson's writing gets over time.

Hopefully Miranda continues to bring new and underappreciated musicals to the screen. There are a lot of great shows that wouldn't get a chance on Broadway that would spring to life on screen.… Expand

Didn't like it..... Had alot of hyped, watch it and was extremely disappointed. The songs didn't stand out.
