Ladies and gentlemen, you expected a(nother) mystery, and now Netflix has given it to you: Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is officially the new Hercule Poirot, and you can check out his latest case in a teaser trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, due on the streamer and in select theaters on Dec. 23.

When writer-director-producer Rian Johnson was first conceiving of a sequel to his 2019 hit film Knives Out, he told The Hollywood Reporter that the audience needed to think of what was becoming a series of films like the Hercule Poirot books that Agatha Christie wrote. This means while the detective is a constant from film to film, the cast around him changes, as does the location, and of course, the mystery he has to solve.

In Glass Onion, Craig is joined by Dave Bautista, Madelyn Cline, Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, and Leslie Odom Jr. in the cast. The new location for the mystery is Greece. And now, the new mystery has been revealed: It is a murder mystery-within-a-mystery as the group on the island is expecting to partake in a game that includes lots of puzzles.

But, "for one person on this island, this is not a game."

"Lock the doors, stay in your rooms; everyone is in danger," the teaser warns.

Glass Onion is the first of two sequels Netflix ordered. The original Knives Out received an 82 Metascore from critics, which is considered universal acclaim. It earned the Movie of the Year Award from AFI in 2020 and picked up an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay and a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Screenplay, among other honors.
