Since then, the two of them have operated and worked together for 14 years building one of the most successful fishing operations in the dangerous waters of Alaska’s Bering Sea.

Rick's boat the Maverick is one of the smallest boats in the fleet, being 92 feet, but it catches just as much as the big guns. Rick is extremely devoted to his crew. Instead of selling his quota, like a good majority of the much smaller boats did, and putting his crew out of work, he chose to continue fishing.

Durring the summer mouths, Rick hands over the Maverick, to Blake to fish for halibut while Rick runs a 32ft gillnet boat, the Miss Donna in Bristol Bay.
