Simon Mirren

Biography: Simon Mirren was a plasterer in South London 12 years before he became a scriptwriter. In 1999, his first film, G:MT Mean Time, was slammed by the critics who cried nepotism because of his relationship to Helen Mirren. He then moved to television to work on Casualty, Waking the Dead, and Spooks for the BBC before leaving England in 2003 to work in Hollywood as a writer for Without A Trace. It was while working on Without A Trace that he met Ed Bernero, who was working on the same lot withThird Watch. The two men became fast friends, and Simon was offered a co-executive producer position on Criminal Minds in 2005.
