Sob stories rule over better judgment and eye candy substitutes for real talent. Golden buzzers (and “yes” votes) go to the story not the talent. Over half the acts getting through the judge cuts should not have even gotten past the first audition. Judges are woefully out of touch regarding what viewers want to see.
So far the ladies’ costumes are a bit more appropriate, but give it time. Wonder if the tech staff for the live shows will fix the audio mix for singers or tone down the lighting so the tv audience can actually see the talent. After two live shows that question can be answered in the negative. The tech on the show: sets, mechanical, lighting, and sound have all been sub-par.
Tyra is still doing a ho-hum job as emcee and the so-called judges (too pc to be effective) still need replacement. Even Simon is voting too pc and not always on the basis of who has the potential to win it all.
Getting more than tired of non-residents getting spots in the live shows and pros (+ex-pros) using the show as a springboard to relaunch their sagging careers. Tired of acts that do the talent show circuit and try to win them all. Need to focus on new and previously undiscovered talent and leave the sob stories for social media.
The judges keep saying this is the best season ever, when it is not - it rings hollow as the judges were responsible for voting the bad acts through in the first place. There should not be judge cuts anymore. America needs to vote to determine who they want to see in the live shows. These judges need to go! In a similar vein, the Duncan save should determine which two acts from the bottom three go through. Tired of judges having a 2:2 tie at the end of results shows and defaulting back to the vote.… Full Review »
