Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is certainly trippy and visually dazzling, but it’s also a big-thought-provoking series crammed with scientific and historical fact. Hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, it is a transporting mass of CGI special effects and cartoon sequences, but it has the heft and scope of cable’s most esteemed science series, “Planet Earth” and “Life.” Read full review

The reboot, with only Episode 1 to go by, looks like a noble, educational and decidedly visual effort that can only be enhanced by the HD crystal clarity that Sagan never had a chance to behold. Read full review

Where Sagan’s narrative often approached poetry, Dr. Tyson’s can sound like an overwrought, overamplified planetarium show.... The animation used to present his story resembles low-budget anime and isn’t terribly absorbing. Bruno deserves better. Nit-picking aside, if the new Cosmos doesn’t deliver quite the punch of the original, it’s because this isn’t 1980. Read full review

As a huge fan of the original series, I'm happy to let you know the pilot continued the legacy of the great Carl Sagan behind the very respectable Neil DeGrasse Tyson with great overview and some eye candy visuals. When i saw this New Tv show i was so suprised of how the effects are also seeing space time . the show blew me away its like watching my teacher talk about science and watching the most great science show i have ever seen . Grade A+

As a scientific researcher what I appreciate most about this series is the passion and intrigue it brings towards science for young children. As was stated before, one of the motivations of this show has been to inspire the next generation to pursue scientific knowledge and to push our worldAs a scientific researcher what I appreciate most about this series is the passion and intrigue it brings towards science for young children. As was stated before, one of the motivations of this show has been to inspire the next generation to pursue scientific knowledge and to push our world in a better direction. Although many scientific aspects and details are skipped over, and some of the animations (especially those with DNA) are inaccurate, it makes science accessible to the public and presents it in an entertaining and attention-grabbing way. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is also a pleasure to listen to. I am pleased by the airing of this series and I truly hope to see more shows of its class bringing science to the public in the future.… Expand

Wondrous! This first episode was a grand outline of the universe and the history of the earth, told simply and clearly and utilizing breathtaking visuals. I can't wait to see more. I think this show will help inspire a whole new generation to appreciate science.

Very glad to hear Cosmos will be finally returning. The show is much more than just another space show; it touches all scientific fields including chemistry, geology, biology, and adds a fair bit of history and even philosophy into the mix. The production values are very high for a show ofVery glad to hear Cosmos will be finally returning. The production values are very high for a show of this nature, using animation, music, and 3D special effects to liven up every episode.

Tyson is a solid host with an easy to listen to voice. He knows how to get his message through and when dealing with a more complicated subject will slow down and try to explain it the best he can. It will be interesting to see what subjects he deals with in the 2019 season.… Expand

A thoroughly absorbing show, interesting, stimulating, and endlessly entertaining. I find myself not only re-watching, but also looking forward to the next episode. Neil de Grasse Tyson presents so well. A must for all!
