A dark day for Maurice worsens when his wife insists on celebrating their anniversary and things get worse still when Maurice's mother finds evidence of his misery. Meanwhile, the twins vie for Abigail's attention.

Maurice wants to open up to his family, but under the stress of the gathering at the hospital, Deborah steers him towards a new revelation. Meanwhile, a member of the family departs but remains.

A visit from Deborah's sister Viv stirs up the family, especially Deborah's suspicions that Maurice might be gay. Meanwhile Amy has a secret that she wants to tell her father, but will he return her honesty?

Maurice has been dropped by the Carols and Deborah is regretting her night with Barry so a dinner invitation from Barbara could not come at a worse time. Donald is upset as Amy and Abigail grow closer.

Maurice makes a final bid to tell his family the truth, Deborah reconsiders their marriage and Amy makes a devastating discovery. Shun comes up with a plan to save the family - if only someone will listen to him.

The family is fractured as Deborah considers her future and Maurice and the twins struggle without her. Barry gives Maurice a shock while Deborah discovers something that calls everything into question.
