Bernthal and Yung make Castle and Elektra an effective season-long two-pronged assault on Matt Murdock’s heroic identity, which gives Daredevil’s supporting characters a clearer purpose as well.

Daredevil is still strong in its sophomore outing, a muscular and visually mesmerizing series that continues to explore its gritty, intense corner of the MCU even as it tells its own stories and, crucially, builds characters complete and compelling enough to exist both within its boundaries and (if the Man Without Fear, the Punisher, or Elektra end up tapped for Infinity War) without them.

Daredevil, like the similarly sensational Jessica Jones, feels like a show that is constantly evolving, and consistently searching for challenges.

Punisher and Elektra make it hard for Matt and Daredevil to operate and both Bernthal and Yung spend a lot of the first half of the season upstaging Cox, who has to capture a struggle that's internal, while his scene partners are playing things that are very external. And the two new additions are so vivid that there's a challenge to remain wholly invested in plotlines that don't involve them, which is tough for Foggy and, in particular, Karen.... But Daredevil still has its brooding, punchy pieces in place for a promising second season.

Daredevil” isn’t only mindlessly violent, but mindless, too. The cast is terrific, production values superlative and direction first-rate.... But is there a functioning brain, or at least a higher purpose, maybe a deeper one? Like Matt’s own search for meaning, good luck finding answers.

Every now and then, there will be a great moment, like the aforementioned Punisher monologue, or Henson's Foggy calming down a violent situation, but on the whole it's too unfocused to entirely work, and has to lean even more than before on the inherent charisma of its actors.

The second season of Daredevil compounds the failures of the first.... The Season 2 introduction of the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), a brutal vigilante inspired by Daredevil, could have had real charge if it didn't just feel like a trailer for Bernthal's own stand-alone series. Eventually, something's going to have to justify Daredevil's tonal excesses. Until then, we're left fumbling in the dark.

Not only does it deliver on its very high expectations, it really gets the story going and leaving you craving for a possible 3rd season.

The plot, the exceptional execution and great pace add up to what I believe is truly the best super-hero show/movie ever displayed. (Idk why it got such a low score. Its great go see it now.)

This show is better than all the DC shows put together (Arrow, Flash, Gotham and Supergirl)
I watched all 13 episodes from season 2 in 3 days. THAT'S how good it is in my opinion. Definitely going to watch it again after a couple of months.

There are a LOT of plotlines going on and a LOT of characters to progress them, which makes season 2 feel just a little less focused and satisfying as the first. The lack of a true main villain certainly loomed it's head over the show, and Wilson Fisk's return and/or the introduction of Bullseye for Season 3 couldn't be more necessary. Expand

Unfortunately, so are the other two, Fonzee and vampire girl. These two have even less to offer this season and offer it up even more whiningly and with extra, extra cheese. On the plus side we have Electra and The Punisher - hell yeah!

The relationship between Charlie and Electra is interesting, but for me The Punisher steals the show. I'm a big Punisher fan, but you know, the real one: the Garth Ennis version. Jon Bernthal is great as the big man, except that, well, he isn't a big man and The Punisher is huge. Also, Bernthal's version comes across as a traumatised war veteran: Rambo 1, if you will. The real Punisher is a cold and calculating machine, not an emotional wreck, just a regular sociopath. But hey, at least a version is on-screen and the version Jon does is done well.

The actual main threat for this season is pretty underwhelming and takes a backseat to all that's going on with Mr Punisher and Charlie, Ms Electra and Charlie etc.

All in all, another really entertaining season. Perhaps, it would've fared a little better with either the Punisher or Electra and a stronger main story.

So boring. This season is only an excuse to put some new characters. The plot is lazy and stupid without a great story in all the chapters. ISo boring.
