“Succession” is a brilliant show, and the first four episodes of the new season are no different. ... The writing remains razor sharp, and the acting is uniformly brilliant, though Strong’s Kendall is somewhat subdued in the first four episodes. ... That’s what we’ll really miss, after all — spending time with a bunch of awful people doing awful things, but doing them in such a fantastically entertaining way. Read full review

Expectations are high, and based on what I’ve seen of the season so far (four episodes), they will not be dashed. They may be subverted, though. ... Significant choices are made, by both the characters and the creative team, that cannot be taken back. It is full steam ahead to the end. Much of what happens is shocking and/or shockingly poignant, especially since it is a show about the absolute worst human beings alive. The one aspect that remains unsurprising is how incredibly funny the show is. ... “Succession” remains a show uninterested (or unable) to offer more than a smirking, surface-level critique of entrenched systems that allow the Roys of the world to barrel over anyone or anything unlucky enough to get in their way. The fourth season doesn’t deviate from that, and if you are a devotee of the show, that’s probably just as well. “Succession” is nothing if not consistent in terms of its level of quality as well as its flaws. Simply amazing again. Big compliments to the writers and creators of the show. It's insane how all the actors are at their best and deliver. Will be missing this show a lot once it's over!

With Better Call Saul finishing last year, Succession became the best show on TV by default. But it keeps getting even better.

About as good as it gets. The thick of it with added Wagnerian emotion. Technically flawless, and masterful in how its bringing all its strands from previous seasons to fruition.

First 2 seasons were great, I'll give the third season a pass because of covid restrictions. Season 4 is dull ( sorry guys but it is ) and super repetitive. The script feels tired and directionless. Here's the real deal folks - 3 stars, BUT Kudos to the wardrobe dept who managed to make Sarah Snook less fat by tucking her into a lot of turtle neck jumpers and double breasted suits.… Expand
