This is a deranged nightmare of wildness, as full of laughs as it is arterial sprays. It won’t be everyone’s cup of thé, but its joyously vulgar title probably deters those likely detractors anyway.

Can’t say it’s great, can’t say I didn’t laugh, more than once. If splatter is your kind of thing, this is your kind of movie. Not bad for what it is, in other words. And don’t forget the subtitles!

Lavant’s performance as a wordless, deranged, bloodthirsty cult leader is the one note of genuine eccentricity and menace in a film that’s mostly devoted to slapstick comedy and decapitation.
