The idea of creating a game world built around knowledge is a good one. But the developers at Souris-Lab should try to better define their mechanics if they expand on the world of Hemeide and to make clear what kind of players they target. Their puzzle design ability is solid, A Tale of Synapse is a good debut title, and it will be interesting to see what kind of experience they can create next.
A well crafted puzzle game that uses mathematics and logic structures to solve them, although the combat system is clunky and the platform sections could be way better.
A game that makes us love math. And mission accomplished since I felt great satisfaction while playing. There are some English mistakes but they should be corrected by the editors within a few days apparently! A game that players whose love puzzles and original art direction enthusiasts should try.
So colorful game, very user-friendly with the cuttest characters ever ! I've tried the Coop mode and you can share good time with you family and friends ! Love it
The ideal player for A Tale of Synapse: The Chaos Theories is one with a controller, a fervent love of niche concepts, and a godly amount of patience. I’d even go as far as to say being fluent in French would likely benefit the player as well, so they may enjoy the title in its original language in an effort to bypass the clunky English translation. The background art is surely beautiful, the puzzles themselves are decent, and the idea is certainly interesting, but, as the adage goes, it’s not about the idea but the execution of the idea. That $17.99 can be better spent elsewhere.
A Tale of Synapse is a very unique game you must try ! As a 2D platformer and puzzles game the mechanics are very cool to play. Even if you are not Maths addict you will be able to solve puzzles only with your logic !
The Art Direction is unique and very immersive and the quality/price ratio is very fair. About 21h of gamplay to finish the game :)
Game purchased on Steam (PC)
What a wonderful Synapsian world ! The art direction and the music make the game very immersive. The difficulty curve gradually increases the time to learn the mechanics. Then the puzzles become more and more complicated by mixing logic with mathematical rules. After the end of world 2, the difficulty increases (puzzles + enemies + platforms).
A very pleasant game !
A great platformer game with a pretty art direction. Puzzles are very different from the other puzzle games and good to resolve.
This game is a real innovation in video games and I think we shouldn't miss the opportunity to play this kind of game !
Summary Help Sci and Néro to get out of a world where logic, mathematics and puzzles will be your allies in a 2D platform game with a unique aesthetic.
