From top to bottom, Bow To Blood offers a solid concept, fun player/AI dynamics, randomized play, and great VR immersion. This game belongs in every PSVR owner’s library.
Bow to Blood is a fine, fun title with some minor niggles. The combat is good, though somewhat tricky to get used to, but the alliance system offers something interesting and unique that elevates the title to a higher level.
This game was a huge surprise for me. I picked it up on a whim after seeing it on the PS store and it's so much more than just a ship battling game. It's loads of fun trying to make alliances with other AI players while screwing over others in order to make it through the season. For a single player game, it has a surprising amount of replayability, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who owns a PSVR.
There’s a lot to learn about Bow to Blood and not all of it’s to love, but what does work elevates the game to soar with all the majesty of its battle-hardened ships. This is a deliciously strategic bit of randomized arena battling that might not make the most compelling case for VR itself but stands as a thrill to play in its own right. If I were to make a bet on what might be one of PSVR’s most beloved sleeper hits in a few years, it’d be this.
While Bow to Blood doesn’t revolutionise the virtual reality space, it does offer a solid experience that builds upon the foundations laid by previous titles. Thanks to a surprisingly robust relationship and morality system that weaves its way into gameplay in a natural manner, you’ve got a game that challenges both your talent up in the air and your heart when your feet are back on the ground.
The game is amazing for the game play depth and is so much fun play! Favorite: is that relationships matter with the other captains. The game is really dynamic, so far seasons don't feel the same. I highly recommend this game, it is fantastic and top of my list this year!
This game wasn't what I expected it to be at all. I was excited for the fast-paced combat and the arena battles which it delivered really well. What surprised me was the rest of the game. There's a fair amount of micromanagement in combat which keeps you on your toes and makes you feel very involved in the action. But there's also this really cool relationship dynamic where you have to stay on the other AI challenger's good sides or they can vote you out of the game. Alternately you could go it alone and hope you're good enough to stay on the top. It makes you always really cognizant of your actions, especially as lots of the conversations make you choose between personal gain and better relationships.
The game's also ridiculously re-playable. Every new season shuffles the characters and interactions so it plays entirely differently each time. One play-through everyone might love you and the other you might be struggling to make friends because of the interactions you get and the choices you make, which totally changes how you have to play and makes it feel fresh. I'll be playing this one for a long time.
The game didn't look good to me I thought so many wrong things. That it was on rails...nope. Yet another multiplayer empty lobby ...nope single player. Just another shooter.... nope.
Read some reviews, turns out they are right! Super strategic gameplay, sort of like FTL and MechWarrior but with submarine airships. The fantasy reality show trapping isn’t some dumb announcer shouting out lines, it’s a full-blown relationship system that makes you think about how to interact with other challengers.
Strategy shooter with a relationship system airship game…nothing like this.
The depth of this game is like no other on the PSVR!! A fun and complexed relationship system built on top of solid fun core gameplay mechanics of flying, shooting, and resource management! Learning to manage your resources and how to fight against the different enemies and situations takes skill and really impacts how the game unfolds for you (as in you will die if you are not observant and learn ;). Its a little hardcore in just the right way ;). At times I forget to breath because some of the action can be so tense, and I've laughed multiple times at some of the surprisingly funny interactions with the other NPC contenders. The way the relationship system comes together at the end is really great - play all the way through to the finish!
