Slightly better than FIFA 23, micro-transactions remain prominent in EA FC 24, also questionable computer AI. It's a beautiful, solid but not spectacular sport title.
If you don't plan on spending additional money on DLC/ coins, do NOT buy this absolute GARBAGE. Been playing for nearly 150 hours and haven't unlocked a SINGLE ICON.
AI is dumb as rocks
Shooting is terrible
Rebounds to opponents icons is abysmal
Icons can NOT be tackled
Packs are a joke and filled with players you've never heard of
This game is a massive waste of time.
The name might be changed but the essence of the game remains the same. This means that EA Sports FC 24 is not an evolution of the -formerly known- FIFA series but mostly the expected annual update.
Even though the feeling on the pitch is only slight different, not all of the new gameplay additions hit the mark - but even so, there's something that makes EA Sports FC 24 feel like the freshest games in the series, and certainly a good way to leave FIFA behind.
We can change the name, but the "FIFA" heart is still there, and in full force. Ultimate team got most of the love (obviously), but although it doesn't feel like a new game, it is still the best football game you can buy right now.
EA has seemingly spent more resources on marketing the new name than improving the formula, and it's therefore very hard to recommend EA Sports FC 24 to all but the most dedicated fans.
As ever, this is more of the same with a few new additions. The game is at its best when playing with friends. There are problems aplenty with the online modes and I steered well clear of the micro-transactions, so maybe my rating is a bit generous.
In comparison to FIFA 23, EA FC 24 innovated in areas it didn't need to innovate.
The presentation remains similar except for two notable differences: the scorebug can not handle special characters (as evidenced by the MLS scorebug, which hasn't changed at all) and no pre-match introductions, something that is exclusive to 9th generation consoles, for some odd reason. Instead of giving power to the player in the realm of choosing whether or not to see the introductions, they hoarded the power to themselves by removing the feature for current-gen consoles.
Career mode hasn't changed much except for the addition of a player agent, which is the most ham-fisted addition in the game. The mode itself is still modeled from FIFA 23, which explains the attribute badges still being present, despite them now serving zero purpose. Player personality badges are what replaces the attribute bonuses & badges and the level progression badges, which have also been axed from the mode. In all honesty, player personality and player purchases should've been axed instead, as they truly serve zero purpose in the mode. On top of all of that, the mode changed how players earn their match rating, which may benefit every position except Goalkeeper. If you play Goalkeeper, the sheer instability of match rating rears its ugly head for all to see, effectively making Goalkeeper unplayable.
Ultimate Team returns and so does EAs reputation as a money pit. Not only have they hoarded the power from the players, they also hoard all of the money as well. Now, spending money on your team isn't a requirement at all. Unfortunately, it is heavily recommended in order to actually improve your team. Once a game mode reaches that point, it's best to stay away from it entirely.
Now we get to the only positive I've witnessed: the gameplay. In comparison to FIFA 23, it's marginally better. I truly wasn't expecting much in terms of improvement, but at the very least, it isn't botched. For that, I will give EA credit.
However, it also reveals another glaring flaw, the graphics. The kits look unnaturally heavy, which gives way to some "unique" visuals. The game, while running smoothly, as one would expect from a current-gen edition, doesn't evolve heavily from the previous generation. This prevents the game from fully utilizing the current-gen hardware and, in turn, prevents the game from reaching it's fullest potential graphically.
The innovations that EA advertised in their promos don't amount to any substantial improvement. The only improvement made was the main menu UI, which actually operates in a way that makes sense. But if that's the only improvement that was made, EA have effectively scammed millions (present company by no means excluded) into a faux revolution when in reality, it's more of the same.
Overall, EA lined themselves up for the game winning penalty kick, only to sail it over the crossbar and into the stands. Still closer to scoring than Konami, but they're still someone that would be transfer listed after the season. With FIFA having already cut them from the squad, EA is on their last legs. Only time will tell if they take the time to train and show signs of improvement before the next season starts, but if their Madden franchise is any indication, I'm not getting my hopes up. Go play some actual football. You'll thank me later.
This game is so pay to **** win. You could be winning like 3-2 let’s say in the 89th minute and all of a sudden they turn into **** 2009 Barcelona and **** end the game at like 5-3 or some ridiculous **** like that. Overall this game makes me wanna drive a plane into my PlayStation and go on a mass shooting.
