This is a solid title that gives you all kinds of bang for your piddling amount of buck.
A tepid combination of repetitive shmup mechanics and big brand power, Lego Star Wars: Mircrofighters is much less than the sum of its parts.
It's a nice idea, but LEGO Star Wars: Microfighters turns too repetitive too quickly.
A dull mash-up of licences that never fires into life, Lego Star Wars: Microfighters just doesn't have enough fight in it.
LEGO Star Wars: Microfighters is a run of the mill iOS game that has a well known name, and a generic gaming offering making it one to skip. The more you are a fan of Legos, Star Wars, or shoot ‘em ups, the more disappointing this title is. If you’re interested in the style, be sure to check out Plasma Sky instead.
There's an embarrassment of riches for anyone looking to have some fun with this genre on the platform, leaving little room for half-hearted efforts like this one.
It all handles as you'd expect – although it has a tendency to be finickety and difficult when trying to manoeuvre precisely - and being in the Lego mould tries to give as much leeway as possible (in this instance you can 'lose' and have to start a level again, mind). However, it's all so boring.
