7554 Glorious Memories Revived is the first big game from Vietnam. Emboli Games has drawn attention to itself and showed that there are also other shooter games outside of America and Europe. While the look and the gameplay are mediocre, the level of difficulty and the survival mode are a welcome change. Emboli Games didn't reinvent the wheel with 7554, but it's nice that you can join Charlie once in a while.
7554 deserves brownie points for trying to break the mold. Instead of
the overused US invasion of 1965, the developers chose 1954 – the
final year of the First Indochina War. Too bad this is the only
original idea in the entire game. 7554 is just a carbon copy of Call
of Duty: Modern Warfare sans multiplayer.
No words to describe how good the game was made in Vietnam. Every new generation student must play this game at least once, plus It's extended the history of the Dien Bien Phu operation. Best game and must play on PC!
Nonetheless, keep your chin up, Emobi Games. The first step has been made. 7554 brought Vietnam on the map of games developers. The next step is an actually good game. And you´ll get there. Someday.
In the stroke of mercy we could appreciate the efforts of Vietnamese developers but if you like Vietnam-era shooters you better grab some Nam-modificiation from any other FPS. [Sept 2012]
This game is very good from my point of view, because even though this game has graphics that are only suitable for old models of computers/laptops, it has a very different story from those developed by Western country Game Developers. Taken from the point of view of the Vietnamese side, which makes me really like this game. Although this game does not have any cheats that are commonly used for development purposes, this game is still challenging for anyone who plays this game, whether beginners or professionals.
As the first Vietnam game, the develop team did a great work.
The graphic is fine.
The cutscene is good.
Have lots of guns.
Gameplay like COD.
But,
GUI is small and rough.
Voice **** so good.
AI is stupid, they will go to the next place directly after completed a event and leave you behind. Sometimes you don't even know it's time to go to the next point, you just keep killing enemies.
Waypoint system is bad,AI will block you.
Model movement is inflexible.
Damn, this game is bad.
I will break down the game into these sections, it get worse every section.
>Storyline: acceptable for a FPS I guess, there is no clear storyline, just missions we do until the Vietnamese won. (The texts were really fast, I can’t even read it despite being a Vietnamese)
>Graphics: poor optimization, acceptable UI but horrible subtitles, I can’t see any word displayed, at least the cutscenes are decent.
>Sounds: everything happen at the same time, the gunshots, the dialogues, everything. I don’t even notice the music is playing.
>Gameplay: now this is what makes the game ****, it doesn’t even achieve the basic ****, which is the fun factor, do I have fun playing this? Not with the limited ammo of less than 50 every missions, enemies shoot me whenever I show up from a corner, teammates are actually useful with scripted events (like there’s this mission where I need to get to this point, and I was having trouble clearing the enemies with the really badly designed aim down sight), your hip fire is actually all over the places, your speed when walking is the same as crouching).
The gameplay is really annoying, and although it was based on cod, the movement is really stiff and hard to control, even the first cod is smoother to play, if you play this for yourself, you can see how bad it is, but the this is the first Triple A title made in Vietnam, I really want to praise it like how the graphics looks, or how the short clips recapping the history during the time, but no, don’t play this game.
Summary7554 is a first person shooter set against the historical backdrop of the climatic conclusion to the first Indochina War between the Vietnam People’s Army revolutionaries and the oppressing French army.
