Control feels like Remedy firing on all cylinders, resulting in a smart and sensational action-adventure.

Remedy outdid itself by creating an impeccable narrative experience so intimately interconnected with a bewitching setting, raising the bar for anyone who wants to break into the action adventure genre.

A gripping descent into something between alternate history and fever dream, realised beautifully in audiovisual flair, and lacking just slightly in the combat itself.

Control is an intriguing, fascinating experience. The third-person action, while slick and elegant, is perhaps a little pedestrian - but the completely bonkers story and the rewarding sense of exploration and discovery help cement Control as one of Remedy's best games.

An audio-visual action banquet that will entertain you with physics and flirting with the supernatural. The story could have been better, the enemy line-up can be quite monotonous towards the end, but the great atmosphere overcomes these shortcomings. And most importantly, the gameplay is great. Control does have its fair share of issues, like the useless map and the subpar pacing of the story. These flaws, however, are not enough to take away from the ever-entertaining fights against enemies, the great atmosphere and the strong worldbuilding. I for one will not leave the Federal Bureau of Control until I’ve unsheathed the last of its mysteries.

It’s definitely not the worst way to spend 10-12 hours, especially if you're into supernatural fiction and the new weird. Yet Remedy lacked determination (or maybe skill?) to go the distance.

I might end up finishing but its hardly a game that has kept me hooked to say the least.

This game manages to tick many pet peaves...

*Pointless weapon upgrades that make me laugh... Check. (2% damage increase, 5% off weapon recoil) the amount they drop is ridicules, and you'll soon run outta space.

*Pointless collectibles... Check. (TONS of them too, I can't tell you how many "classified docs" i pick up)

*A game that fells like it what's to be a movie... Check. (every character delivers there lines like a hammie actor, instead of saying "okay, I'll go now" you'll get "Okay.................................................................. I'll go.............................................................. now..................................................." with more less every line of dialog)

*A map that confuses people more then it helps... Check, and i know that I'm not the only one with this issue by a long shot, just google it.

I just couldn't go on sadly, don't get me wrong it looks amazing and damaging the environment is very cool.
