    The death of Cayde-6 was redeemed by a pile of content that finally attracts players to Destiny 2 as much as they were attracted to it with the great The Taken King. But the road to another success was long and tricky, for both fans and developers. [Issue#291]

    I loved Destiny 2: Forsaken and I liked Destiny 2. Now that the floodgates are open, I am really interested in seeing what Bungie is planning next. In any case, if you're having any kind of doubts about Destiny 2, that you won’t like it or that it might not be for you, Forsaken should dispel them.

    Thus far, Bungie has delivered on all fronts and even admitted its mistakes with the launch and first year of Destiny 2. Now it’s not only brought back what made me love the first Destiny when it was at its best, but also added a ton of requests that fans – myself included – have wanted for years.

    Forsaken implements several smart changes for the current season of Destiny 2 along with telling a thoughtful, yet darker story of vengeance. It's a comeback for Bungie.

    Forsaken continues Destiny’s great tradition of taking a lackluster opening salvo and beefing it up with content that makes the game feel complete. Were it not for the superhuman light level climb in front of me, I would have absolutely no issue recommending this the same way I recommended The Taken King. If there was a version of original Destiny you had to play, that was it, just as Forsaken is the definite version of Destiny 2 - as long as you’re willing to make that climb.

    Destiny 2 Forsaken is a whole new game, a whole lot of game, but it’s also the exact same game. It's "fun" – Destiny always was – but it's a loop of endlessly increasing numbers and loot and numbers and loot and more numbers and not enough numbers and I just don't know why I'm doing it anymore.

    To date this is the best Destiny version ever. They turned the game and it is absolutly fun. Can't wait for Shadowkeep.

I don't really care how long it took them to realize their mistakes. I'm just glad they figured it out and delivered a solid finisher. Having a blast and won't ever change my mind. Haters gonna hate. I say "feed 'em a fist full of boomstick and move on." Me, personally? I enjoyed the game at launch. I looked past my (honestly minor) gripes toward a solid endgame, and I haven't been disappointed. The devs heard, chewed on feedback, and replied with a great DLC, so grab your handcannons, play that funky music, and go hunt the enemies of humanity. ;-)… Expand

    Thought id never come back but was proven wrong with this beautiful love letter of an expansion to everything that makes the community enjoy destiny

Obviously, the loot isn't worth it now, it has been sunset, but I think it is unfair to judge the game by what it doesn't deliver xD. It does, however, deliver a good mix between the grind and new engaging story, it is what I expect from destiny 2 and what I got and I am satisfied. During promotions, like this one during Christmas, it is totally worth these 10 bucks.… Expand

    So why a 6 and not an 8 or 9 or even 10? The fact is that this does not stand on its own making the price point issue a valid one, you are basically buying the game again in order for the game to become what it should have been 1 year ago, you are paying them to add content so that it now is close to the amount it should have been on day 1. But greed is good, right? No, it drives customers away and to be honest only a few of those I played with in the beginning seem to even consider this expansion.
    Destiny 2 simply launched with to little content, amount of maps, the size of some, the strikes and so on and so forth. The raids on the other hand has always been great in this game but not everyone raids.
    There are a list of features that should have been in the game day one, like how gear and upgrading now works. The daily and weekly bounty feature is how it should have been long ago. Those I think are outside the expansion so at least something.

    The good.
    The story is by far the best one in Destiny, it could easily have been longer though so a missed opportunity even though it is the best.
    The new areas are good, adding a zone for max-level players with a high gear level is a good move.
    The addition made to the subclasses are well done.

    The bad.
    The price, at a lower price like say 20$ without the season pass and 35$ with the season pass and this would have been an easier sell. As it stand I am not going to recommend that anyone buy it, wait until they drop the price.
    While the story is good it is a missed opportunity in how most part of it could easily been made longer and more engaging.

    What else to say? Bungie once again does what they did in the first Destiny. So I guess that in Destiny 3 they will remove all these features and again sell us a game with less content then it should have.    … Expand
