Shadowkeep is a big stride forward for Destiny 2, and it shows that Bungie cares about its game. Sure, there are some stumbling blocks like a bare bones story and some wonky design choices, but those don’t get in the way of enjoying the core Destiny experience. I love Destiny, and the breath of fresh air that Shadowkeep has brought to the series has me hooked once more.

Shadowkeep sounds like a love letter to the fans. Lots of plot revelations, a beautiful moon to explore and many new challenges, this expansion has many qualities, despite a very short campaign.

Shadowkeep and New Light bring Destiny 2 a new born. A massive upgrade becomes the game Free to Play with lots of playable content without giving a cent. They also add new and interesting systems, like Armor 2.0 or the seasonal battlepass, which give the players (also de free to play players) more possibilities than ever. Besides, this big update came with Destiny 2’s new DLC, Shadowkeep, who sent us to the Moon to fight our nightmares. An enjoyable adventure maybe too short and irregular at some parts of the history, but really nice in general terms, with a very surprising ending .

To be clear, Destiny 2 is still an engaging shooter that—when you step back and take stock of all it has to offer—is absolutely packed full of stuff to do. Shadowkeep is both an entertaining assortment of new activities and a solid base from which the game at large can build and improve. But Shadowkeep also doesn't feel like Destiny 2's final form, and there's a real sense that there's still much left to be tweaked and tightened. The subway is being refurbished slowly, one station at a time. That doesn't stop me from enjoying the ride.

Shadowkeep is an interesting expansion but poor in content. We look forward to seeing what the next few months will bring, hoping that Bungie will be able to keep his promises.

Shadowkeep is an extremely lazy expansion that offers nothing more than the bare minimum of content. Some new sets of armor, a few additional weapons, several exotic and a pleasant additional endgame activity are of little use when everything else is in fact recycled from the past incarnations of the franchise. Let’s hope Bungie will somehow counterbalance the scarcity of present contents in the next season.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is a lot of old content covered by a coat of paint that can barely be considered new, but thanks to the general update of a few game systems and a decent amount of recreational therapy with which you can increase your Light Level, this expansion definitely makes Destiny 2 a better, bigger game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The campaign for shadowkeep is one of the best campaigns I've ever played. It has amazing storytelling and shows a darker side of destiny with not a single joke. Some grind during the campaign slows it down but can be a nice relax. Expand

It is rather clear that the developers are devoting the minimum effort to keep the game barely alive and exploit microtransaction as much as they could. Their ignorance now has developed into more of an audacity, and keep false-advertising as they are constantly adding new contents and improving player experience. Most of the added contents are a simple recycle of previous contents: worn-out and repetitive, whilst continuously hindering the entertainment value through imposing restrictions and limitations on play-style. Furthermore, at this point it is now sort of a tacit consensus that the developers simply stopped caring about hackers, and game-breaking glitches. Expand

The game disregarded everything that I have done (from raids and top tier PvP) and switched the progression method to a full RNG and micromanagement based system, which is exactly why MMOs that run out of ideas keep failing.

As for the game, it's still fun to play but once you get to that endgame, the fun will be all over.
