A very addictive and hugely enjoyable game with heaps of replayability thanks to the level generator and level builder.

Door Kickers is the ultimate top-down tactical SWAT simulator. Challenging, packed with missions, never frustrating, it will keep you busy for many hours trying to perfect your execution.

Door Kickers is a difficult, rewarding puzzler so obsessed with its tactical ideas that it rejects all else—which is probably for the best anyway.

Traditional top-down tactical action never bores. Thanks to the community the game would only grow better. Increased difficulty is another bonus. [Issue#247]

A challenging game full of tactical puzzles and some really engaging mechanics. [Dec 2014, p.62]

Excellent tactical game that suffers from occasional megalomania and also a lack of testing. Moments when everything works as it should are a true balm for every strategist's soul.

When you pull of a mission with all the challenges and three stars, you feel like Col. John 'Hannibal' Smith. The most fun game I have played in 2014.

It can be fast paced action or careful planned tactics, you have a sizeable range of weapons to choose (some you need to unlock which represents the Police Dept's budgets). It's up to you to kick down doors to arrest parole violators, respond to a shootout at a shopping centre, rescue VIPs from embassies, defuse bombs, use stealth tactics and silenced weapons.... the list just goes on and on. The modding ability is extremely able to use, you can easily create a new mod, new maps, etc. in a few minutes. That is of course if the random mission generator is not enough for you.

Highly recommended - giving 10/10 for Alpha and 10/10 for Release.

Still in the alpha stage, but o man, this game is promising! Getting back from all time favorites in the tac genre like SWAT4, DoorkickersStill in the alpha stage, but o man, this game is promising! Getting back from all time favorites in the tac genre like SWAT4, Doorkickers gives an unique possibility to control your own deadly SWAT team. But this time not from the ground, but from above. This means that macro-managing your operation will be very important, to have every body on the ground on the right spot at the right time. But at the same time, the AI is giving you a hard time killing them, so micro-managing every encounter is a must too. Varying from Close Quaters Combat with two guys covering eachother backs, to more open spaces with teams from 6, this game gives an all out experience from controlling your very own team. Future addition look amazing, so this game is one to keep in mind the coming months! Expand

We've all bought into bad alphas at least once; but, this game is impressive. It makes you use tactical strategy & leaves you thinking "I can do it better next time". Even the next day after I got it I caught myself running through maps in my head. Plus my son loves it too. So I give it an 8/10 and after the full release w/ all the tweaks it'll only get better. I recommend this game to any tactical loving gamer... Expand

The gameplay itself boils down to mastering a room clearing technique, and once you figure this out, the game becomes very simple. Not much variety in the inventory, and frankly, once you unlock the Assault class, you have everything you need to beat the game outright. The RPG elements that are introduced are very shallow and don't really differentiate your squad members. The various roles in the squad are pretty superfluous, and at later stages, Assault is the only really valuable role you can take. Cover system is very mediocre, with your troops more or less being a gun that you point with your mouse. No dynamic AI, no functional cover shooting. What you have is a game that consists of everything that made the old Rainbow Six games good, but without the same polish that made them fun. Fun diversion for a few hours, but not an 8/10 game. No clear way to get "squad levels", I'm guessing you complete solo missions before the campaign to unlock?

Bug on the first level, I could not delete a "planning node" once set under arbitrary conditions; The issue would just show up every once in a while, no matter what skill I picked to use.

Tactically boring: make a small move, look for "tangos" if found kill, if surprised, restart level, make new plan, repeat. More of an elaborate game of "Simon Says" than anything else.

Also a little racist? All the "tangos" had darker skin tones, from what I could tell.
