The setting and the world structure in Iron Harvest are profound and perfectly accompanied by the imposing music - absolute goose bumps.

For advanced players, it may be more of the same with a different paint job, but as someone who has had less engagement with RTS titles as a whole, Iron Harvest has been a really solid introduction for me. With a unique well-researched universe and context, and interesting combat mechanics, I look forward to diving further into multiplayer and to seeing more of the 1920+ universe down the road.

Do I think Iron Harvest has the makings of legends? Not exactly. But I do think it offers a unique enough flavor for anyone looking to sate their RTS appetite will find a good offering here. You won’t see it headlining any major esports events, but not every game needs to be the next big thing to be worth it. Sometimes just being different and relatively well made makes it worth checking out.

Iron Harvest is a good game. KING Art Games did a good job responding to the demand of the players who clearly enjoy these types of games, but with all the ideas they proposed, they could have done something really new. It has a lot of single player content and a good AI both in the campaign and in quick games.

A pretty decent start to Iron Harvest's RTS journey. Lacking some much needed additional content and the campaign could be better, but there's a solid foundation here.

Iron Harvest presents a fascinating alternate reality of which I’d like to see more. The war is intense, the maps are rather pretty, and the units are an escalating maelstrom of steel and steam from which delightfully concepted war machines come into play. The battles are intense and the deployment of armaments can make one feel giddy in the rush of it as bullets and shells fly and explode. That said, some unfortunate aspects distract from the experience. The game’s increasing technology tree makes cover-based tactics a questionable proposition, the slowness can make downtime between events seem just a bit too long, and multiplayer is a bit too limited. The game is not horribly marred by these drawbacks, but best bear Wojtek can only carry the spirit of Polania so far with the baggage weighing him down.

Iron Harvest is definitely not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just an average real-time tactics game with neat visuals and very little originality in its design.

Hey the game just relased but it's already quite fun.

Yes, at the moment, there's no leadeboard in multiplayer and yes there are some issues with IA (not gamebreaking) but as an RTS with this particular setting it looks amazing.
Maybe, at the moment, not worth 50 bucks you got a point there.

You can kick a few hrs into the cool campaing and by the time you end it (I think it will take at least 20 hrs) they will fix what does not work or is not available right now.
Or you can wait a bit for a sale.

Gameplay is slow, do not expect fast paced rts like aoe or starcraft, especially mechs can get a solid 3 to 5 mins to go from a side to the other of a map, the problm is that units do not cap speed at the lowest one in the group so if you don't pay attention mechs will arrive when the party is already over for good. Yet, the several kind of units amnd mechs make every battle different and unique.

A thing I really don't like is that the game is very badly optimized. I do run a 5700xt and ryz 2600 still can't get more than 30 fps in most of crowded situations. Is not a game that gets much better at 60 fps but a minimum of 30 would be really the standard; changing res (1440p) or quality does not change much so I guess is really a matter of optimization.

I was skeptical when they were making the game like 5 years ago and it did not surprise me.
Is it based on a famous novel or something?
CoH is not a popular genre and dev added even less popular factors like dieselpunk and alt-history into it. Nice effort, dev. but it just won't work.

Everything feels un-responsive. It's like you're constantly prodding all your units to do their job while they fight to just stand there. I gave up on trying to use grenades--they just don't ever happen for some reason. If you ever hit the RETREAT button, your entire army will run all the way across the map back to your base while you have zero control over them. You're just a spectator for like5 full minutes. Who's idea was that? In a very early mission you have to protect a train, but it's got literally ONE hit point. I instant-failed that mission 8 times because single men got through and shot the train. It suggested I build bunkers, but the game won't let you do that if you're maxed out on the number of you infantry (for some reason). So I had to intentionally kill a bunch of my men to build the bunkers to pass that stage. This is when the game was still trying to teach me how to play it! That's when I realized this thing wasn't tested enough for me to spend time on. Expand
