Leaving Lyndow is a puzzle and adventure game. The environmental artwork amazes you from beginning to end and a compelling story makes sure you'll be finishing this game in just one sitting.

A short, calm exploration of a beautiful island, where the conversations are like talking to real people. As an introduction to the larger world of Eastshade it's great, but Leaving Lyndow doesn't quite manage to stand on its own feet as a separate game.

Leaving Lyndow is a beautiful experience in a fascinating world, but may be more of a 45-minute-long commercial for the upcoming Eastshade than an actual game.

This is not supposed to be a complete game [and it's the first job of that studio], so don't play it before playing Eastshade. Play EastshadeThis is not supposed to be a complete game [and it's the first job of that studio], so don't play it before playing Eastshade. Play Eastshade first and then play this as a [n unimportant and partial] prerequel (it only takes 10-15 min max).
PS. Eastshade is clearly a 9/10 compared to this so don't judge the other from this.

The game is absolutely breathtaking. The art style is very weathered and homey. My favorite thing about the game was the windows. The entire experience took me an hour, and that's if you REALLY take your time. I think Leaving Lyndow is a very directed game. It knows what it wants to say, and it gets in and gets out quick, but leaves you time to linger.

Imagine if you took the feeling of leaving Pallet town for the first time, and stretched it out for an hour while adding an extra gallon of class and art. That's Leaving Lyndow. I think if Eastshade is able to improve upon Leaving Lyndow in even a small way, it will turn out to be a rather good game.

I think the art, music, detail, pacing, and design are all exceptionally well done, and very impressive. I think the character design is kinda creepy, but very homely. I think if the story aspect had half of the depth that the art and design had, it would be a very compelling title, even at its brief length.

I think where Eastshade could benefit most going forward is by having a dedicated writer as well as another programmer and some more play-testers. Leaving Lyndow is a very nice, small scale "Art" game. And that's good, but adding more "game" while keeping the same art will help the next game sell tremendously well.

So should you buy? I think Leaving Lyndow fits very nicely into the $4.99 price range. And its actually only $3.99 so, yeah. Its not much, but whats there is definitely worth it.

    Over before it begins
Leaving Lyndow is a walking simulator where you play as clara
Its her last day on the island she grew up on, and its time for you to pack and say your goodbyes before you set out on a journey you may never return from..
This game takes less than an hr to complete..
Im not a game length snob though, so this isn’t much of an issue
my biggest issue with this game is how unimpactful saying goodbye really is…
I had high hopes for this game when it started…
    Its beautiful, its peaceful..
youre walking around your house for possibly the last time, looking at drawings and pictures..
    But the impact ends there…
There are 4 other locations in this game
The forest, the farm, the docks and the teahouse..
Here you look at items from your past and have conversations with old friends and relativies, some with belief in you, others without…
but I felt no real connection from any of them..
This isn’t helped by the fact nothing in this game is voice acted.. not even Claras thoughts…
so you never get a true feel how she feels about any of these people youre leaving behind..
there are some mini games in here like playing mack music, hide and seak with some dolls, and a basketball kind of game… none of witch are enjoyable.. except for the doll hunt.. I had a little fun there…
Leaving Lyndow doesn’t have much going for it aside from the beautiful music and atmosphere…
    I believed this was a real place…
I don’t feel my time was wasted, but this isn’t a game ill be telling people about..
Unless they watch this video of course
    I give Leaving Lyndow
    a 5/10

Least Favorite Thing: It all fell short. I found the journey rather uncompelling.

    Playtime: 40m
    Enjoyment: 4/10
Recommendation: There are better, more touching walking simulators.
