A step in the right direction: more realism and challange. The missing official licenses and wrong squads and the sometimes buggy AI are the only downsides.
  2. Despite unsolved bugs and non-updated teams, PES 2011 has lots of novelties, excellent commentary and a great graphics.

The return of the realism is very welcome, but PES 2011 isn't yet as round as a football should be.

After a run-and-pass arcade footballer, then pick up PES. Anything else, then FIFA's ahead by a long shot.

A technical improvement on past efforts, let down by a lack of atmosphere and irritating AI flaws. [Nov 2010, p.92]

Konami still haven't figured out how serious and realistic they wanted their game to be, and made some silly mistakes. PES 2011 has occasional strokes of genius, and they really push the series forward… But it's not worthy of a gold medal yet.
  7. After swimming with sharks, Pro Evolution Soccer has undergone a facelift with this new episode, particularly successful, although perfectible, but placed on the right track.
