The Moon Sliver is there for you if you’re in the mood for a brooding, slow-burn thriller with nothing to offer but loneliness--and an empty feeling pushing you towards a conclusion you know you don’t want to be a part of.

As long as you come in with the expectation of a short, non-linear storytelling experience then you won’t be let down by The Moon Sliver. It’s a bit creepy, sad and ultimately quite compelling.

It plays out in a few short sections that can last between 10 - 20 minutes. The scenery will change and that will be your notification that the game has moved forward. The controls are as responsive as you will need them to be.
The visuals in this game are acceptable for what this game is. It does enough and purely enough, nothing flashy or special. The issue I had was that the writing gave me a different sense in this game from what the visuals sometimes portray. A few scenes will reach out and touch you in a visual sense but they are the exceptions.
I did enjoy the soundtrack. It is the majority of where the ambient mood comes from. It will help you when you begin to feel disconnected from the visuals.
The writing and the story are done well and with a certain emotion that makes up for the vagueness. The metaphysical journey it takes you on is filled with a certain trepidation, wonder, and confusion. It is a fantastic enjoyable tale.
The mechanics are a little clunky as the text you are meant to read will sometimes overlap making it impossible to read. The point and click also has the potential to annoy and distract from the other excellent portions of the game.
The game can potentially be replayed to gather more intrigue into the story and nature of the surreal place and its inhabitants. An excellent way to kill an hour getting lost in a story that has the proper amount of vagueness to get your imagination rolling.

The Moon Sliver is worth a playthrough just for the narrative experience. You start off alone on an island and you're wondering where your other friends have gone. The story begins to unfold of this small world as you visit places on the island. What started as confusing to me gradually grabbed my curiosity as more pieces of the story were revealed. I can't say that I fully understand the story, as it's written ambiguously to allow you imagination to run with things a bit, but it engaged me and pulled me through the the conclusion. The game is atmospheric and has a few moments of chills, but nothing overly scary. Just atmospheric.

It's a short game - probably about an hour - and in my view worth it to experience this form of exploration/storytelling. My recommendation is to give this a play.

Moon Sliver is a game that you play. Moon Sliver is a game that invites you to explore an interesting story in a scary, atmospheric enviroment. Moon Sliver has a story. In fact, Moon Sliver is a story. You walk around and read text. Thats all you do. Read. Did you buy this game to read? Nope. So buy a book...more fun than this "game"!
My finace disagrees and respects the creator for the effort put in. I do agree, effort was made. But this shouldnt have been a game. It should have been a book. I dont buy a game to read! I buy a game to play and have fun! The atmosphere is spot on and the music compliments the spoomy element. But the game falls flat on its face due to it relying on the story to carry the gameplay, objective and everything else, and im afraid it just doesnt work that way.
