Respawn combined their prowess in the FPS genre with the good parts of the first Titanfall, greatly improved upon them and released a monumental online shooter, re-defining the genre yet again. The non-stop action of the multiplayer matches is unparalleled, while the Campaign is cinematic, stirs emotion and the only downside is its short duration. Lest we forget, all future multiplayer maps will be free for everyone, keeping the community unified and not splitting it, like we were used to with all the Season Passes that came before.

The 2nd installment of the Titanfall series continues down the right path yet again. It is truly one of the best First Person Shooters of this generation.

Thrilling and diverse multiplayer battles and a campaign with great gameplay - a real titan of the FPS genre.

Titalfall 2 is exactly what we wanted two years ago: a full game that is very entertaining and offers the interesting addition of Titans. The singleplayer is short but sweet and the multiplayer is even better than in the excellent first Titanfall.

The first Titanfall is a solid execution on a great idea. Titanfall 2 feels much closer to reaching that idea's full potential. It's clear that Respawn labored over every tiny detail, from the powerful sound of each gunshot to the convincing sense of weight present in every titan step. The level of effort pays off tremendously, creating a shooter that can compete with the stiffest competition. It's too bad the campaign never comes close to the overall level of quality that some of its best ideas hint at, but the multiplayer will likely keep you happy until Respawn decides it's time for a much deserved third entry.

Titanfall's second outing has more to offer than the original, but the novelty's worn off a bit and the singleplayer campaign waffles between brilliant and boring.

As a long time Counter Strike player, I've long since became bored of FPS games. But this game adds a lot of new mechanics and gameplay styles that no other game has. There are many very satisfying levels that require a combination of FPS tactics combined with mech warrior gameplay. This game is worth it for the hours you will spend on the single player campaign. Highly recommend because there aren't a lot of game out there where you can control a giant mech warrior. I also hate puzzles and this game does involve path finding but the checkpoints always make sure you spawn very close to where you died. This reduces frustrations. Where you need to go via wall walking or double jumping is obvious. Play the game! Expand

It was filled with "omg that was so cool" moments and overall it was just a highly enjoyable experience from start to finish. TF2 is a very well made game, it runs, looks, sounds and plays great. The gunplay and movement is very tight and fluid, even when in the Titan which feels heavy and slow (as it should) you still feel almost graceful, it's a brilliant balance. Optimisation is great as well, I was hitting 144fps indoors and 80-100fps outdoors with a GTX 970 on high settings. The whole package just feels very polished.

As for the multiplayer it's good, quite intimidating when you first jump in because there's just so much customisation and content to catch up on, but I found myself enjoying it more and more with each rank up and after this review I'll be playing some more for sure. A lot of the devs who worked on TF2 worked on Call of Duty: MW and MW2 which IMO were two of the best, so you can expect a similar feel to those games, just with massive Titans added to this mix. The game still has a healthy playerbase, I never had to wait more than a minute for a match, often less and the game uses dedicated servers so my connection was solid with only 8ms.

Titanfall 2 is now available on Origin Access which is only £3.99 a month, you can sign up and cancel straight away which is what I did and it was well worth it just for TF2 alone.
