This game was developed to correlate movement, visual gameplay, roster, and mechanics to that of the movies so thoroughly that it makes you think of how unauthentic previous Godzilla "fighter" games (Save the Earth, Unleashed..) were compared to this. This is the Godzilla movies..in a game. His interactions with the environment, encounters with other monsters, and sluggish movement all give you that authentic feel of what Godzilla should be in game. The only downside would be graphics ( which aren't terrible for a PS3 port ), for the power PS4 holds the graphics could have definitely been better. Beside that, A+ in my book.… Expand

People want this game to be a sharp, controlled fighter, when it's really a movie simulator! People complain the graphics look PS2, when apparently they've never seen these films! The special effects and very way the building fall apart is straight out of a Toho film. The models might as well be direct scans of the SH MonsterArts toy line!
The controls are designed to feel exactly how you should, Iike a behemoth that shouldn't be able to move around fast in the first place! If you make a mistake charging and miss you opponent, you get punished and have to slow turn. That is what I expect to happen!
The detailed sound effects of this game blow my mind! Not only does every monster use the correct roars from their films, but the very SFX they make when they fall is the same. That's the kind of attention to detail someone puts in when they care about what they're making! I personally lost my mind when they queued up Akira Ifukube's Military Marches at each Disaster Level!
The multi-player itself is something different. It's plotting and methodical. You can't just run in and expect to win by spamming. You have to watch you opponents for opening.
Is it a fan service game? Absolutely!
Is it grindy? Yes.
Is it something the average Battlefield player should play? No, because this isn't their game!… Expand

Sure the game suffers from some issues with difficulty at the beginning, but the game does not punish you for going the easy route. For all that it's worth it certainly simulates what it's like from the monster's point of view, just destroy whatever is in your way. Tank controls on it could be better, but this is probably the first time Natsume (developers of Harvest Moon and Abadox) has programmed a game of this magnitude. It is simplistic and kind of repetitive yet stays true to the Godzilla playstyle: slow and lumbering, yet unaware of gunfire. I'm only guessing this, but they may have just forgot to put in a life meter for Godzilla because he regenerates from near death damage so quickly. Overall I'd say that the game is fun for what it is and is quite aware of how gimmicky it is. 8/10… Expand

The game does not have a story, you're just fighting another monster (kaiju) the entire game. Godzilla has horrible graphics, the scenario is terribly bad. Visually, it's the worst game of this generation and the old well. The movement of the monsters is well made. The soundtrack is the same as the old movies, but repetitive. Overall, Godzilla is a repetitive and tiring game with horrible visual effects, the good thing about this game is the amount of monsters. just buy this game if you are fanatic for godzilla or if you do not know what to do with your money. 4/10… Expand

I'm a pretty huge fan for Godzilla if I do say so myself, so I was curious on hearing of a new Godzilla game. I hadn't played one in many years, Godzilla saves the earth being the last I had. I remember enjoying that game pretty fairly. Not that great, not that bad. But this, this game slaps you across the face and then pukes on you. A crappy ps3 port from Japan, the game looks disgustingly outdated and it's online functionality is on par with throwing your router out the damn window and then attempting to stream on Twitch. Stay far away from this disgusting thing. If it weren't for the fact that it functioned and had some of my favorite monsters in it, it would be even lower than a three.… Expand

Graphics are generally disgusting, basically on par with a high school weekend project. But to be fair the creature design was decent.
Gameplay is just .....well, almost non-existant. A main campaign that is embarrassingly short, bare bones online MP (if you even want to call it that.) This game assumes it is highly replayable ..... ONLY BECAUSE IT IS INTENTIONALLY MADE THAT WAY!!!!! It is mind numbingly repetitive with nothing really driving you to even want to play again, yet alone multiple times. *Supreme facepalm* This game is an abomination.
It is clear that there is a good idea behind the game and the team behind it really did want to make a game that was worthy of the name, as there are enough references to indicate the creators were big Godzilla fans. BUT, this is an incomplete game at best. Almost like 20% in to production they just gave up, polished up what little they did do , and put it out for sale. This Godzilla game is a shining example of why games in this condition are better off cancelled.
Note to the production team:
You should all be ashamed of this. Back alley discount prostitutes have more dignity than this. For shame!… Expand
