The graphics, sound and physics engine promise to be the most realistic ever experienced in a driving simulator thanks to the new platform and the new technologies, but that alone would be a too obvious improvement: the way driving games are played also promise to undergo a revolution with Gran Turismo SPORT. This is a vision that invokes the rebirth of motorsports. The major difference between real life motorsports and Gran Turismo SPORT is in the fact that anyone, from children to the elderly, can participate and enjoy racing. Even players who have never played driving games until now can discover how fun it is to drive. Whilst at the same time, it promises the depth and complexity to meet the expectations of the existing Gran Turismo fans. Expand

After a long wait, Gran Turismo Sport is here, and it is racing perfection beyond measure. This is the best racing game that I have ever played, overflowing in beauty, grace, playability, and precision. Driving a go-kart, a fusion-engine concept race car, or a standard Ford Focus all provide a wealth of fun and unique challenges. Gran Turismo Sport is a triumph, and will be played voraciously by racing fans for years and years to come.

Gran Turismo comes to PlayStation 4 clearly focused on the online content and on the eSports, forgetting too much about the single player mode. Polyphony Digital has decided to bring something new to the saga thanks to better gameplay mechanics and realism.

Compared to past games in the series, Gran Turismo Sport is an admittedly trimmed-down experience. There are fewer cars and features with no trips to the moon. However, it’s also true that much of what was lost really needed to be cut. GT Sport makes the most of its new focus on competition and it does an admirable job of training you to be a better driver. It can be intimidating to head online for the first time, but once you finish a race in a respectable position, it feels like all the time you’ve invested has truly paid off.

Regardless of its foibles, let this installment be the start of a real commitment by Polyphony Digital to online racing – one that is folded into the main series' career mode and which is not just a temporary dabble like the track creator of GT 5 or the dynamic time/weather and race clubs of GT 6. GT Sport has enough qualities that it should be the start of something better and not just a detour for the franchise.

Gran Turismo Sport fails to make our heart beat with a lack of content, and not many real existing cars or tracks, which feels odd for "The real driving simulator". The Fair-Play system isn't yet working properly, but hopefully it will before the start of the eSport season. At least players can still enjoy a nice physics model and an enjoyable feel to the drive.

Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, and yet, it’s still a disappointment. Given this series’ pedigree, good simply isn’t good enough. GT Sport still brings it on the track, but its lack of content can’t be ignored, and you can’t give the game top marks in world where Forza Motorsport 7 and Project CARS 2 exist. If you’re a diehard fan of Sony’s series or really into online racing, GT Sport is worth a shot. If you just want the best racing sim out there, you may want to kick some more tires.

With its lack of content and boring solo campaign, Gran Turismo Sport is simply inferior to its predecessors.

While it may suck that the classic career mode is gone and that the game starts off with just a small selection of cars I think it is replacedWhile it may suck that the classic career mode is gone and that the game starts off with just a small selection of cars I think it is replaced by something that may just be as valuable with the new sports mode. The game is now more about racing other humans of your skill level and it pays off as you can feel yourself becoming a much better driver over time that is learning more more over time. The car roster may be small but considering they have all been made from the ground up for the ps4 rather than just ported over they look stunning and show every bit of it up to he smallest detail. And while it breaks my heart that there is no classic career the single player missions are rather fun to be honest with the short and nice missions that change in variety over time and even a driving school for new comers. Overall if you want a single player racer you are probably better sticking to forza or need for speed but if you want some great online racing and to experience what realistic racing would be like this game is for you. This is GT SPORT (not GT7), so most disappointments are coming out from BASIC misunderstanding in here. This ver imo aims at online racing and content mostly. Cannot wait for E-Sports with this one!!
Editing and customization is extensive, cars set-up is pretty much focusing on morst important stuff - settings. Really slight adjustment can be felt right away on track!.
If it had severe weather conditions available or more cars (which i think will arrive) in-game I would be happy to give it a 10.
    9 it is. Great game.

This library of cars is downright pathetic. Its so great we get an whole screen (in the car section btw, wtf?!) dedicated to some guy who makes watches...and has nothing to do with cars or racing, but the entire car library looks to be about 20 cars, if you don't include the variants of the same car, which is 90% of them. GT-R, GT-R Gr4 and GT-4 Gr.3 are not 3 separate cars, thats 1 car, in 3 different setups.

Online racing is good, people don't wreck too much because there is a good "Sportsmanship" system in place, which I do really appreciate. The racing is good, the cars handle great, the online racing is actually enjoyable (because people aren't slamming into you all race)....but with 2 whole cars I'm interested in driving, I'm bored after 1 day.

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I always loved gran turismo and gran turismo 2. When i start playing gt3 up to 6 i believe that the game will come as i dreamed, like gt1 and 2. With gran turismo sports i was hopeless, and this is the first time since 2002 my thoughts comes true. Gran turismo will never be as gran 1 and 2. This is unbelievable, the game has a very beautiful graphics, and nothing special at all. There is nothing new makes me believe that the game is changed for me as a player. High detailed cars, same sound ans same missions. I wished to play gran turismo as i did in 1998, i wished to feel the same feelings that i had in 1998. I lost all my hopes during playing this game. I'm waiting for my xbox one x to play forza, i believe that track racing games can't make these huge jump at all, but forza motorsports is better than gt. At least it has many different races that i can enjoy at it, upgrading the cars has more options than this game. Gran turismo need to focus on how to upgrade the cars more than high detailed cars.
