  • Summary: Machinarium is an independent puzzle / adventure game developed by the makers of web-games Samorost and Samorost2. A little robot who's been thrown out to the scrap yard behind the city must return and confront the Black Cap Brotherhood and save his robot-girl friend.

    In spite of its occasionally obtuse moments, Machinarium has enough charm in its presentation to win me over. There are some clever puzzles in this package with plenty of assistance on offer to provide enough direction. Sometimes the execution is a bit off and having a controller as a substitute for a mouse can lead to awkward moments, but it’s a strong effort that’s worth a look.

    A very beautiful, fun and challenging point and click adventure that's only downfall is the reliance on so many minigames. 80/100

    The best thing this game has going for it is a great art style and a charming main character. Everything else is pretty run-of-the-mill. The gameplay is classic point and click and the story is as basic as they come. The puzzles are quite alright if a bit too specific at certain times - they work.
    Machinarium is pretty short but at the end of the day it is quite cheap so you can't really complain about that.
