Sinner is totally anonymous from the point of view of the lore and "is inspired" excessively to the design of the most famous bosses of the soulsborne saga.

A series of interesting boss fights clashes with the general treatment of the Chinese indie game, lowering the quality to the point of not doing it justice. Nevertheless the challenge offered brings with it great intuitions.

The problem is that I couldn't connect enough to the game to care about the fight and was only rewarded with frustration in defeating the bosses.

Sinner does what it sets out to do and looks fine enough while doing it, but it just doesn’t feel like its own product, and given how unique the premise is, that should speak volumes on how forgettable Sinner’s core battles actually are. I love the concept, but I hope someone eventually does something more interesting with it.

What Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption ultimately lacks is the kind of flexibility and variety that makes the Souls games so engaging. I actually think that Sinner’s bosses are interesting, well-designed and sort of terrifying, and in the context of a game with a fleshed out story, character-defining progression and better pacing, those bosses could be memorable level-ending encounters. In its present form, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption feels like a proof of concept tech demo that badly needs to have a real game built around it.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is an ambitious game that brings something new to an increasingly popular style of action game.

Not only is Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption a shameless rip-off of the Souls series, it also manages to be a downright irritating game with very little payoff. Unless you want to show off your boss fighting skills on Twitch or something, I suggest avoiding this game entirely.

Inspired by some of the best game already in the market and religion. It take all the good point and make it in a little good game. It's a dark soul-like, every mistake is a punishment. Boss are memorable and have special fight mechanics. It's not an hard game at all, 6 hr and it's done. So why everyone think it's a hard game? Because everytime you kill a boss you'll do a sacrifice, that mean you'll get a malus, like less damage, less defence etc. And you'll keep these malus the entire game.

This game have some good idea, but too short.

There are 8 bosses and 2 hidden bosses and the level-down mechanic is quite clever and original. Some of the bosses were good and provided a decent challenge, but mostly the game felt a little bland and heartless. Many of the bosses were also way too easy. The vague story failed to grasp my attention. Got this on sale for like 4 euros which I consider a fair price for this game. Expand

Given more effort and time from the devs, even for a Soulsesque title, this could have been a winner, but its potential is ultimately adumbrated by its egregious ignoring of critical details. A future patch could improve things, but right now, the biggest sin in this game is not to be found by any of its unfair Alighierian bosses; the sinner is not even you, as Adam or the player yourself; the biggest sin is in this game's hurried, unpolished execution.
