If you just want a survival horror and you’ve played pretty much all the big ones, Submersed can fill that void. It doesn’t do anything particularly outstanding, but it works.
Submersed is a survival horror game with good ideas drowned by a short duration, bad enemy and level design, weak gameplay and a narrative that feels underdeveloped.
I really enjoyed the environment of the game. Music is also great and teleports you to a frightening atmosphere.
I honestly enjoyed dialogues and voices too.
If you love indi games and I think it is a must among the 2019 games. Great job guys!
I love the survival horror and the sharks and this game was a must buy for me. Despite a low budget graphic section has kept me hooked throughout the game. As a negative point I would emphasize that it has a short duration.
The game's technical issues and inventory system bring it down heavily. Without the flaws, it's a decent survival horror game, but nothing that stands out that well. If you're a hardcore survival horror player, Submersed might be a game to consider (a guilty pleasure), but for those that want a quality survival horror, look elsewhere.
Submersed ultimately makes some key decisions which will frustrate. Enemies are relentless and inventory management feels botched, leading to you require prior knowledge to advance. Stealth is functional but, more often than not, you're tasked with running from foes that are simply quicker and deadlier than you. There's a punishment on offer here that doesn't fit the crime and, whilst the game tries to do well with a small budget, it can't execute on much of it.
Submersed is a tragic mess of mistakes, and in addition to everything above, it’s buggy. I had several crashes, textures sometimes disappear from walls if one gets too close, and I’ve fallen through solid floors. If it wasn’t already obvious that one solid setpiece can’t prop up a mediocre game, Submersed should be all the proof that’s required.
Submersed takes an interesting and original premise and does virtually nothing good with it. There are elements and ideas of a good game in the bare bones of this, but it is all so poorly executed and dull that it is difficult to recommend. The fact that it is a mid-price game on PS4 only compounds this amateur feel as there are hundreds of similar games available on Steam for a couple of quid. In the end this is far more snores than Jaws, and lacks any real bite.
To be sure, a story about sharks eating a bunch of people could absolutely be compelling. But it would require a lot more effort than what went into Submersed — which, as it stands, is too frustrating to be as creepy as it wants to be.
Good indie survival game. It is a little short (It took me 4 hours to finish it) but the atmosphere is very good and it is a good experience. Recommended.
Submersed is a great video game developed by a young team of two people. This is his first work, an approach to survival horror in the first person, taking as a reference movies like Alien and Deep Blue Sea.
Although it has its shortcomings, the developers have managed to capture the dark and overwhelming atmosphere of the classic films of the 90s and the 00s. Game mechanics forces the player to be patient in an oppressive environment where, at any moment, we can die in the jaws **** white shark.
The music takes as reference the soundtracks of John Carpenter's films, which may seem strange for players who wants another type of musical. For me, it's a good reference to those B movies that I liked so much when I was a teenager.
Undoubtedly, a correct game developed by Main Loop created for players who like independent horror games.
You have to try it!
Before starting to play this game, one would expect a claustrophobic experience in the deepest marine darkness only with a shark as soon as it sees the slightest light, it will not hesitate to attack. However, the product is the aforementioned but the shark kills indiscriminately and no matter what, you can try a thousand ways to scare but the game sooner or later ends up frustrating the player in a thousand different ways, no matter how many times you try to go from one area to another. another, it just takes a bit of luck to pass the levels, the soundtrack is stressful and put at a bad time, not to mention the voice acting that leaves much to be desired. If what you are looking for was a game to scare you and survive, please, see more options, there are many alternatives that are not so frustrating.
I was really hoping to enojoy this underwater survival horror since underwater horror and sharksploitation are really my thing.
The game have a similar plot than some popular movies like Deep Star Six or particularly Deep Blue Sea, with a huge genetically altered shark on an underwater complex and the protagonist have of course to save the day as Thomas Jane in Deep Blue Sea. But sadly the game fails his promise. The plot is just loosely based on movies mentioned above, the action and the chills are ineffective, the principal characters well isn't Thomas Jane and all is packed with poor design and ridiculous original score that absolutely not feet to the story (I mean seriously, electric guitar action as it was a damn Doom score for an underwater thriller?).
I know this is a low budgeted indie game but the result looks way underaged as it was actually designed for last generation consoles.
Oh boy, where do I begin. Tragic textures, bugs and a mediocre storyline nullifies the potential this game had. I expected a horror-like subnautica, but I recieve this. Looks like an online game for free. Visuals are like 2010 visuals. The price tag is similar to many better games. Yikes...
